    Hello all

Hey all, my name is Paul and ive been looking on here a bit but this is my first post, ive had loads of vws but only 1 audi (96 a3 TDI). I love s2s and almost bought one 8 years ago (94 Coupe in red). Anyway i want a mint audi 80 avant TDI, if i can find one, and the plan is to make it look like an s2, i cant afoard to run an s2 as i do 600 miles most weeks, if anyone has or knows of a very good audi 80 tdi avant se with lowish milage please let me know. Im also wondering if converting an s2 to tdi may be an option? Any advise/comments more then welcome, cheers

I dont know if its still available but http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1801567

S2 to tdi .. each to their own but I wouldnt recommend it.
To get an S2 in ireland you will probably have to import it adding VRT to your bill. Not much point.
S2s are 5 cyl and unless you go for the 5cyl 2.5tdi engine you are into welding engine mounts I think, and if you are going to go to that trouble it would be better in my mind to import a V6 quattro 80 avant and drop that down to tdi. Less VRT but same work. and you save an S2.

Then you have to wonder, will an A4 quattro 1.9tdi avant do, and before you know it you are back to the 80 Avant 1.9TDi again.

Project Sooty http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28022 has details on whats needed for S2 lookalike

        Paudge,

        Welcome.

Try a recent thread of mine.

Try the search function as this query comes up a lot on here.

I've been looking for a Silver B4 Avant TDI for two years for a friend and it's very hard to come by one in the UK when based over here, no mine over here in the 32.

I agree with the post above covert a V6 quattro.

        Whereabouts roughly are you based?

Hope the above is of assistance.

        Kind regards.

Make another Audi look S2, OK, I wouldn't change an S2 though bit of a backward step me thinks. Good luck with you endeavours

Small world, it is. I tend to agree that a B4 TDI with relevant S2 parts in the way to go.

Front bumper and ellipsoid headlights are mandatory.

                      In (my) suggested order:

Decent radio and speakers in the oem positions, given your weekly mileage.
                      Uprate front seats
                      Rear Bumper
                      Side Sills
                      5 x 112 hubs
                      Avus 16 or 17" rims
                      S2 front brakes
Suspension kit to lower and slightly stiffen
Front and rear anti roll bars
and so the list, (money spent), goes on, but you'll be getting the mpg with a tdi given your weekly mileage.

Let us know when you find the right B4 car for you.

                      kind regards.

This whole TDI thing is starting to sound appealing with the urrent price of petrol
