    Back again...

    Hi all

Been around the audi community for a few years now, was registered here few years ago when I ran a minty URs4, which I sold to buy this:

Been quite happy with the 80q until earlier this month this cq20v came up for sale locally , it needs a lot of work but I think its worth a resto.....forgot how much I missed the 5pot noise.

Will post up more pics as I go along.

    cheers

Welcome to the forum, nice to see someone else from Anglesey, not that many of us on here. If you need anything quickly for the coupe let me know I have a silver coupe 2.0 going to scrap on tuesday.

Ah right yeh I'm sure I remember your old URs4 now. I'm only up the road in Menai Bridge but the audi is in my unit so wont be seeing it for a few months now. Ill check the windscreen in the light and let you know.

Is that the couple that was on ebay 2? weeks ago ?

I nearly bid, but decided it was too far from Kent for a budget project.

              Good luck with it !

No its originally from Cumbria but was bought in 1999 by a chap from caernarfon and then stayed in that area untill I bought it year and a half ago. Whats the plans with your coupe then?

Yes its the one on ebay. Its got potential but sadly its been neglected, looks like it went down with the titanic underneath (its been stood by the sea for nearly 3 years) and there's rust on the roof line - probably thanks to cheese cutter marking the paintwork when windscreen was replaced few years ago.

Towed it home with my 80q, filled it with petrol, new battery and it started straight away - no mods, totaly standard. Had thousands spend on it over the years.

some more pics...this was after a quick wash on day two..

under the tape in the middle are three 1cm by 0.5cm rust holes which will need windscreen out to repair.....then replacement windscreen in....as you can see the windscreen is knackered.

Underneath not great, got under the car with wire brush and torch to have a proper look.

.....relief!!!! chassis is fine, car floor pan clean with no issues.

subframe needs good clean or might as well replace it, some bolts look rusted on....coca cola time i think...

fuel lines are perfect, no issues, exhaust is a gona though. This is the worst bit:

Changed the wiper motor on Sunday and got that working again, all the drainage holes were blocked to sorted that and gave engine bay a bit of a clean, but all belts need changing and coolants flushed/replaced.

Ive got a plan forming in my mind for this, it needs all calipers and disks replacing so will look to upgrade these. Going for koni shocks and PI 35mm springs with poly bushes so thats also on the list. It needs a new s/s exhaust to release that engine note a bit more.

Outside its going to have a v6 front bumper, clear indicators, all red rear lights, porsche cup wing mirrors and will black out the 4 rings on the grille...will probably transfer the white team dynamics onto her for the winter ....for shows and summer looking for set of Azev A in 17"...may take me a while to find these. But for now its sorting the suspension, subframes, wishbones and brakes that will take my time.

Thats about it for now, lots to do over the coming weeks and months - thanks for reading.

                      some more...nice and clean here

shocks dont look to bad, no leaks and no major rust

Fuse box area bone dry...excellent, even has fuse removal tool

One of three reasons for buying the car....that 20v engine.....needs steam clean, service, cambelt and coolants flushed....

this doesnt look like the right manifold to me....

this is what really borthered me, never seen anythin like that on a B3 before...ever

few bits and bobs need cleaning up with good spray job,

calipers are working but knachered and doubt if they will pass an MOT.

alloys, defo going to refurb these, really like the deep dish....

its good inside, interior not showing much wear....dont mind the blue velour or the fake wood trim...feels so retro. Have nice 3 spoke steering wheel to go in.

                      All eletrics work...

This was my S4, sold in near mint condition but was sacrifised for its engine which I believe is now in a short wheelbase ur conversion.
