  • French RS2 owner

    Hello everybody,

    I'm owning an Audi RS2 since 4-5 months. The car was first registered in Switzerland from december 1994 until february 2008. I bought it this year after it was imported by a french guy who couldn't afford the maintenance of it. The car has 79.500 Km and was annually serviced by an official Audi dealer.
    The car is in pretty good condition but with the regular RS2 problems and was delivered with OEM winter alloy wheels!

    Please find some pictures of my car and I will create a new thread in Air conditionning section to help me find a part that I'm searching since I own the car..

          Interesting. Your RS2 has a more complex history than you think. The X4A code = National Sales Program Austria. X4B = National Sales Program Switzerland.

          You've hidden the last 6 numbers on the VIN but I can say that with the "S" in "SZ", where S = 1995 model year and Z = Zuffenhausen, your RS2 is a 1995 model year vehicle.

          If you haven't already, I can breakdown all the codes on the build tag and PM them to you.

            Those OE RS2 winter mags must be very rare. Any others seen those before?

                @ UrS4boy, the picture I posted is not the best quality, but it is written X4B so Switzerland (check image attached). Thanks for helping me with the codes but I already checked them on this Site, before buying it.
                Concerning the winter wheels, I was pretty surprised to have them when I bought the car, the seller did not know what to do with it so he offered them to me. The spare wheel has also got the factory Dunlop SP Sport fitted on it with the 245/40 ZR17 size!

                @ David, problems I have got since I own it are following:
                - the pipe 8A0260740AE is leaking and there is no way to find a new one at the official dealer I'm waiting for Audi Tradition to get it ;
                - the front driver CV joint exploded on my way back this summer after a 2500 km trip, that was replace by Audi since ;
                - I'm searching a cover for the right trunk hinge (part 8A9827270) ;
                - the rear speakers are not working and I don't understand why ;
                - the trims on the doors are all rosted, a friend of mine ordered them in Germany at an official dealer as it is not possible to get them in France (I asked Audi AG why is that, waiting for an answer...), it seems the French Audi dealers do not give a s..t about Youngtimers ;
                And finally I would like to renew the outside painting (and put the new trims) as it is not perfect. As I'm using the car only during my summer holidays (living abroad most of the time), I'm searching a good specialist to do it, so if anybody knows a good painter even in the UK as I'm living not far from Ouistreham where I can take the boat, let me know it.

                  Okay, the X4B and B0F both say Switzerland so that is confirmed. http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/198578.phtml

                  The decoding site you suggest is good but for example, it isn't perfect on the wheels. For example, C1D comes back as Steel wheels 7.00 x 17.5. (which is wrong many different ways). C1D should come back as 7J x 17 'CUP'. http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/198577.phtml

                  The winter RS2 mag wheels are 8A0601025Q, 6J x 16 ET 51.3 "avus silver for winter tires". I haven't found the "Cnx" code for those (yet).

                    Thanks for the added details, I just made a quick search before buying it to be sure that the codes on the sticker were the ones fitted in the car.
