    10v to 20v turbo monster

hey there my name is dan
i have a audi 80 coupe quattro 2.3 e. i have just bought a bare aby block and head with bent valves wich im going to be building into a monster.
so far i have a complete 2.3e 10v engine and running gear currently in the car and i have a aby bare block by wich i mean no auxillaries. i also have a 2.5 diesel bottom end. but i dont know whats best to stay with the aby bottom end or use the diesel and get it decked. i have so many questions i think i could be here for ever.
i started out on classic audi but they say i would be better off here.
forgive me if i am posting in the wrong section.
i will be needing to aquire a loom and ecu but im not sure if i should go standard or is there any aftermarket alternatives.
im planning 6-700hp with the possibilty of more. so are the standard manifolds upto the job and if not are there any aftermarket alternatives as so far i have been anable to find much atall.
thanks for taking the time to read my post.
    cheers dan

Speak to Aronmatic on here for the supply of rods

          Or....

H-Beam (Conrods) Connecting Rods Audi S2/RS2 Turbo

Audi S2 Coupe 3B, ABY 81.5mm Wossner Forged Pistons K9201D050

          Standard bore size is 81mm

However I have found first oversize 81.25 generally does not get rid of all the wear on a high mileage engine

Your engine machine shop will be able to check your bore and advise if to go for first or second oversize pistons.

I used 81.5 mm on my first oversize.
Bought wossner pistons from this person:

I went with standard ABY block.
If you want early turbo spool use 2.5 block. If you don't mind lag (some people say it's like foreplay ) than go with standard block.

i have the same goal in mind.

i have very little knowledge of these things but the best advice i can give is look more towards the characteristics of what you want from your engine.

tiny variables can provide the same hp but if you look at a few builds on here the range at which the power is delivered and how aggressive it is.

what do you wish to do with this car and how strong are your forearms.

In all honesty I think I would stick to the ABY bottom end as you have that already.
With reference to power output I would still aim for a lower target or 500 to 600.

Then strip the living hell out the car and go on a diet to make it as light as physically possible.

Doing the weight saving will make a huge difference on speed if you are aiming to drag race the car.

Instead of having a calandar worth of lag

Dutter Racing has just posted a dyno chart on Facebook tonight.
                  1218ps
                  1131nm of torque.

But does not really start boost until 5000rpm full boost by 6500-6750rpm.

i have just bought the aby came from a p. a. barber in nottinghamshire awaiting delivery should be here at the end of the week or early next week then i will get pictures up. i also have a 2.5 diesel bottom end lying about. belongs to the old boy. has been there for years. so its to make a decision. was doing a bit of reading correct me if im wrong but longer stroke means better the hp gains. now im torn between wich one to use thats why i ask if there is any disadvantages or advantages like cylinder walls for high boost or which would be better for my goal.
i have a lot of learning to do on this machine. ive done other builds but the stroker idea seems like a load more work but if its worth it in the long run thats what i shall do.
                    cheers guys

Then go for the Stroker as there is no substitute for displacement!

Have you got a budget in mind? 700bhp is not going to be cheap. Have a read of this thread to get an idea of whats going to be required
