New owner in Essex

Afternoon all. Been a luker here for a while and nearly took the plunge a few years ago but didn't work out

Started looking at estates again recently and found one for sale this week that i viewed and bought yesterday! Its a silver urs6 avant in manual 1997

Has some minor rust issues (drivers side front wing and tailgate by far the worst) and suspension could do with a refresh but other than that it seems pretty good. May give it a bit more power at some point too

Will no doubt be on here looking for advice at some point so any tips appreciated along with recommendations for good garages and painters

So you have bought it didnt think it would hang around long, was tempted to buy it myself, how much did you get it for? if you dont mind me asking.
I had a noggy blue S6 with plus features, it was a briliant car and i wish i never sold it.

Just stumbled across it by chance and new it would go quick. Without giving too much away I had a bit of a haggle and think I got a reasonable deal

obviously it depends on its condition but if you got it for what i think you did then you got a bargin, its one of the last made (its got a Audi built in radio, gamma?) Suprisingly it hasnt got electric seat

You wont regret buying an s6,they are a brilliant car. I have had one for 9yrs and its been the best car I have ever owned. Its done 220000 miles on the original clutch, exhaust,Engine and gearbox, and I have used it hard.
I also have an S2 coupe, which in contrast has been a real pain from day one. That was 8years ago.

Ah wicked, was there last Sunday as the weather was nice we took the cab for a spin!

Welcome. I have been trusting German Vehicle Specialists in Westcliff with my VAG cars for over 10 years now, and they know their way around my S6 pretty well. Thanks to me they will have at least seen a similar car to yours in recent years :-) as things go I have found engine work is now easy enough to do mostly myself with help from mates, but I don't have the space or tools to do suspension etc so use them for that. I recommend you get on the Quattroworld S2/UrS6 forum too as there is a wealth of info and advice on it. I am very nearby to you so feel free to PM if you get stuck on anything or for a meet-up.
