hey lads advice and help please

hey lads, just thought id say hi im here for some advice and help with my vw corrado build

im going to be using the same setup but i will be keeping it in my vw corrado vr6 to convert it to 4wd and for something different... ill be using a 016 / 01A / 01E Audi gearbox ( what is the strongest and easiest to get hold of )

the advice im also after is on what rear subframe from the audi range to use, i wont to use one that uses a single coilover unit not separate shocks and springs( if any audi subframes use this setup ), also i need one that is not electronically controlled like the haldex unit, a true 50/50 setup..

i no most people will say why do this conversion but i wont something different and i love Corrados

ill be running over 600whp so im not sure what box and read diff will hold this power i no the amount of custom work that will be done but this is going to be a long and meticulous project and i have a good budget for doing and will be doing all the work myself

    thanks dani

    Hey.

B3 90 quattros, B3 80 quattros, coupe quattros and S2 coupes all use macpherson rear struts.

Are you turning the engine round? The boxes you have mentioned are all for inline rather than transverse. Y need an adapter plate for a vr6-01e

Aaron/speeding-g60 is doing a 4.2 quattro corrado, so might be worth giving him shout.

Unusual way to do it, most Corrado, Golf etc use the Haldex as it's easier because of the engine not being inline ( using mk4 golf 4 motion equipment for example ) you're going to have to think how you can use an audi box with a vr6 which would mean engine turning?

Be good to check out motorgeek also see if similar conversions are knocking around.

Have you thought this conversion through in terms of logistics?

Get a scrap B3 as a donor car and use the subframes, diff, gearbox etc. Look at the thread by gnutz2, who fitted an Avant (B4) driveline and I5 engine in a mk.2 Golf.
