First post, and yes its a cry for help

Hi everybody I have been a silent user on here for a while finally getting up the courage to make a post as I would like to call upon the help of the many experts on here. I recently bought a URS4 having a few issues, which I will try to describe below:

The car will run fine showing and holding 2.4 bar on dash gauge and as long as the car is driven agressively all is well however as soon as you have opted to drive off boost for a little while and then accelerate it will misfire (also sounding as if the waste gate is fluttering) if you lift off and replant the miss will ease and then on a third or fourth attempt the car will rev through cleanly.

Had read several posts with similar symptoms and had felt it is an ignition fault, possibly the spark plug rating maybe too cold so I have changed them, but if anything this has made the matter very slightly worse. I am moving towards one or two other sources of the problem the first being a POS unit (as coils have not long been changed). The other thing which may make sense is the fuel filter, the car runs mostly an RS2 set up with Bosch 044 pump and may still be fitted with a stock fuel
    filter?

You guy's may know about the actual set up than myself as it belonged to a forum user (Costash). But I believe the set up as follows:

    ANN Engine
    RS2 Cams & Exhaust manifold
    K26/27 turbo
    550cc injectors
    cotton filter
    front mounted intercooler
    Stock MAF ?
    Custom Map by prj
    hope this all makes sense,
    best regards,
    Mike.

Can't comment constructively, other than to say haven't heard of this type of fault before, but while I have my own ideas, I'm looking forward to 'seeing' what it turns out to be.

    Best wishes.

Maybe the mixture is wrong, check all the silicone/ rubber hoses. What is the color at the tip of you spark plugs? Black?
Try to get someon help you to run a vag com diagnostics if you don't have.
          Thats my perfect english

Old Spark plugs looked fine when I changed them a couple of days ago will see how the new ones are looking tomorrow also will find time this week to check with VAG com and suspect I will have to attempt the fabled boost leak test what's wrong with your English I suspect it reads better than mine (hence I've been a forum member for over a year and never posted).

Check your coilpack boots, these fail when under load and can cause missfires....

              Cheers

Hi Steve, will do, their recent, but it looks like the wiring to them may be suspect and this might help explain how once plugs were change problem became more pronounced.
                  thanks Mike

                    sorted miss fire

Just an up date on my running issues, I had the soldering iron out to fixing the carnage in my door wiring (had lost windows, sunroof and central locking), so renewed the looms to the coil packs and miss fire is fixed hooray!

                          Thanks all!
I got word from the guy I bought the car from that is has launch control,
Now with miss fire sorted I'm itching to give it a blast! But there seems to but some major mechanical brutality involved in this. So do I go for it or Im I destined to destroy the transmission??
