    New here!

Hey guys I'm new here, and I'm looking to buy an RS2 chipset for my 91 200 20v with a 3B. It won't let me post in the parts for sale. I assume it thinks I'm spam since I have no posts! So I figured I would post here and introduce myself and get my posts up!

If you are in the US of A for real, you should contact Marc S. at EFI Express. Be aware that you will need RS2 injectors and a 3.0 Bar MAP sensor as well as the "RS2" software and RS2 K24-7200 turbo (or equivalent).

Yeah I've talked to Marc Swanson. He said he could come up with something, but only if I left my car with him for a while. And he's over 1,000 miles away, so that doesn't really work for me.

And thanks, I do have rs2 replica injectors and a variable map sensor. I'll be installed a ball bearing Garret GT3071R turbo with K26 housings from 034 motorsports. They say it works well with an rs2 tune. I've also got a high flow manifold and custom turbo back exhaust. No cat, single muffler along with 7A cams.

Okay but with that combo, you are going to need a custom tune not a generic "RS2" chip set.

Well, ideally, yes. But I'm currently running a stage 1 2.5 bar tune which is intended for a totally stock car, and it runs perfectly with the mods I have now.

And seeing how the rs2 had a higher flowing exhaust manifold, more aggressive cams, better flowing intake manifold, a bigger MAF, and it probably had a more free flowing exhaust than the 200, I imagine I'm not too far off from a stock rs2. I imagine a 4bar FPR and rs2 injectors will run just fine until I get a custom tune.

Your definitions of "runs perfectly" and "just fine" are very different than mine.

            Good luck.

I highly doubt it. I went to college for automotive technology, so it's not like I don't know what I'm doing. I have a wideband controller with an air fuel ratio gauge in the car. Cruises right at 14.7, and stays between 11.5 and 12:1 under full boost. No issues for 20,000 miles.

Nice to have someone who knows thing or two, but no need to be cocky. He's just trying to help, there was no way of knowing that you've done auto technology in college was there?

                  Welcome btw.

It's not coming across like that
First off I wouldn't trust anything 034 tell you. They're famed for selling crap that doesn't work. You need to do some more research as your info on the RS2 is pretty sketchy, the 7A cams you have are nothing like RS2 cams, your 3B inlet flows better than an RS2 item and you share a MAF.
The setup you are describing will work but it is sub-optimal and your auto tech schooling should tell you that, at the very least get the right 3.8 FPR for the software, they are readily available. If you're going to do a job may as well do it right.

If I was you I'd get a decent intercooler, some appropriate injectors and go and see Marc and get it tuned properly for the 3071 rather than bodging together some ghetto setup that doesn't make proper use of any of the components. The other option is to get hold of decent off-the-shelf RS2 software from PRJ (I believe EFI can supply this) and use that set-up with the correct injectors and sacrifice some performance potential from the 3071. He may even have a generic tune for a 3071 - but your fuelling MUST match what the tune is expecting.

If you send a PM to Greg_S or Sonic on the forum they will be able to get you into the Wanted section

I plan on getting a custom tune eventually, but I'm quite confident this setup will work at low boost just fine until that day comes. But thanks for the input!

dont think that its worth.. in long term that is..
the injectors are to small and the turbo can do mutch more... if you have non original rs2 injectors they will flow not the correct amount.. and the cams will not work with the seput as you wish..
so spend your money to get the max out of it..

Well unfortunately unlike some people here, I don't exactly have an unlimited budget. I realize I won't be able to get the most out of my turbo. Yet. I have to do things incrementally. And I happen to own a set of rs2 injectors, so that's what I will be using. And I will be using a 7a regulator. So yes, it's not ideal. But I will watch my AFR and be careful. I'd be happy to drive around at 8psi for a while until I can get a custom tune. And I have met at least one person with an almost identical setup that runs an rs2 tune at 2.5 bar with the 3071 (and yes, even 7a cams) and they say it the perfectly. We'll see. You guys worry too much lol

Now I understand. Your defintiions of "run perfectly" and "just fine" are "suboptimal".

I don't know who sold you on the Garrett turbo but you would have been way better off just getting a Stage 1 chip set for now and running the K24-7000 at 21 psi or so (around 260 hp) and saving your money to buy *EVERYTHING* you need for a full RS2 level upgrade at one time.

But then again, one cannot tell college-educated types very much, after all.

                            Good luck.
