    Hello from Leicester

Hi everybody, my name's Sam. I've just bought a 1993 2.3 Cabriolet as a project. Hopefully you guys can help me on my journey to turn it into something decent. Its currently sitting on 124000 miles, manual hood which has a slight leak near drivers side door. Cracked headlight and poorly resprayed bonnet as well as poorly fitted boot carpet/trim. It's a sod to start sometimes, turns over loads but doesn't catch. Brake pedal pulses also. Going to give her a full service, change all fluids as well as having the cambelt done. Cloth interior is pretty good, all dials and gauges work. Any tips/advice etc is welcome,

    Sam.

          Welcome to the Forum.

This might come across as impertinent, but it is obviously not intended to be so.

Just wondering did you not consider spending a bit more to buy a later year B4 Cabrio with a V6, and in better condition. Some of the end of year models, (final edition), are gorgeous in immaculate condition, garaged, one owner etc. I think someone else on here recently bought such car ? Lee ?

Just nosey, and looking to help now at the outset before you commit money to the car, as you'll appreciate, the cheapest to buy at the outset is not always the cheapest in the long run.

          Best wishes.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I did consider a couple of final editions before I bought this one. I went with my heart instead of my head and bought this. If anything, it'll be a learning experience. I'm hoping it won't cost me more than £500 to see it right.

            Sam.

              Hopefully you're right.

It'll certainly be a learning experience.

              Post issues to elicit advice.

              Regards.
