New member from the United States

Wanted to give a quick introduction of myself. If you have branched out to some of the state side forums, motorgeek, theprojectpad, or even fortitude you may know me already.

My name is Dave and I hail from Pennsylvania USA. I am a machinist, welder, fabricator by trade, and a major Audi enthusiast. My personal project car is a '91 80q with a MC1 swap running on MS3X. There have been lots of other mods to the car as well though. Currently running polyurethane engine, trans, diff, and subframe mounts from HPR, B&G S2 springs, bilstein sport struts, 80 comp 16" wheels, and Stebro exhaust. This car has been a major headache as well as a joy in my life!

Plans for the near future are custom DIY coilovers, polyurethane control arm buahings, B4 front uprights & spindles, tubular header, holset hy35 turbo, 3" custom exhaust.

    Here is a quick pic of my 10vt B3 80q(left) with a friend's AEB B4 90q(right)

I look forward to reading and learning more from everyone here!

Thank for the welcome Greg! Welding steel isn't all too difficult to get right, the cast iron and cast aluminum I have to deal with regularly is a pain though.

David, yes that is at the Carlisle 2016 show. It rained the entire day, and my car was far from tuned with the new MS3X setup installed, but it made it there and back! The rain actually makes my 80q look much nicer in pics than it actually is. I'm in desperate need of a paint job, all in good time though.

I heard about carlise a couple of years ago when I was at gettysburg, unfortunately the audi show wasn't on it was some corvette show at the time so we gave it a miss, are you local to that show and is it worth checking out if I ever go back that way?

Thanks for the warm welcome! Wasn't sure how my little 80 would be taken.

David, I am local to the fairgrounds. Carlisle is a good time, lots of good people and cars. People come from all over the USA and Canada for that show. If your in the area in mid May, you should check it out.

Carlisle is a great show for "Audifiles" and other European makes. The third weekend in May is when it is usually held. Also, if you're in the NE USA there's "S Fest" in late August.
