Was wondering if there was any conclusion to the debate that was last had about VR6 MAF's ..good mod ?..and was the AFT affected by them?..I have bought 2 of them so intend to try one out on the avant and see if there is any difference
Funny - no not yet... But by some fluke I have that planned for this weekend.
I have a fresh RS2 MAF
I also have my original S2 MAF
And a spare S2 MAF
And a faulty S2 MAF
**** thats enough MAFs for me - I'm going to try and get a spread of the values... At idle and on 2nd or 3rd gear pulls. Figuring I can do this in VAGCOM - not ideal as the sample rate isn't great, but should be OK averaged out over a few repeatable runs.
I'm wanting a USB ADC to do this more accurately - and size up differences with the hotfilm MAF when I get it.
Well first chance I have had to run the VR6 maf ...what a difference!!...unbelievable ...really smooth have not had a chance to plug vag.com in but will do this week
You'll notice the difference I was quite amazed at the smoothness of the K24 with the VR6 MAF granted I hadn't driven a stock car in ages but it was noticeable the difference.
Only thing I could think off was that it leaned out the rich stock ECU map. If it works with a homefries would be for someone to test.
I haven't got near the car to do anything meaningful in a while... Its resting the garage away from all the horrible wet stuff that falls from the sky on a daily basis - waiting on parts to fix my water leak then I can maybe get somewhere
Why bother with quattro for 'fair weather' driving :mischeif:
I've noticed that swapping from my OE UK MAF to my Slovenian special blend MAF makes a difference. Until it remaps for part load there will be a difference but at WOT I guess different MAFs make a difference.
