    Another thumbs up for MRC

I just acquired a nice ABY coupe with full Audi service history, in fact the previous owner had just paid nearly £900 for a "full service" and a few items of maintenance.

When inspecting the paperwork, I had already noticed that, although the car had only 59k miles, the cambelt had never been changed after 12 years...!

So my first port of call was naturally MRC to change the belts, water pump, etc.

Those of you who know Doug, will know that he doesn't stop there - a full health check revealed that there were no air leaks but the spark plugs were loose (and hadn't been changed for 4 years) and the DV was knackered.

The service booklet now has its first PROPER stamp in it.

Thanks again Doug for going the extra mile

The first owner was the MD's wife, who managed to put less than 4,000 miles on it in the first 3 years.

The second owner lived in London and had a second car.

The mileage is fully supported by service history, invoices and (every) MOT cert.

59k is very very low for a 12 year old car! Mine drives lovely (cos I've just about replaced everything!) so that must be something special - just as Audi intended! 4000 miles in 3 years sounds potentially lethal for both clutch and exhaust on most mortal cars but not for an S2!

MRC are bloody good chaps. Been there a couple of times and they have always been top notch. Mihnea did wonders with a mate's S4. There are very few places that I'd take my S2 and that's one of them, and it's over 2 hours away!

Just wait for the tuning bug to embed itself.. resistance is futile, I've tried!

Looks very nice. And very low miles.
But do my eyes decieve me or is that a dent on the OS roof above the windscreen?

12 years on a cambelt! Blimey.
Congratulations on the purchase. I hope it looks after you.

Has it been looked after otherwise? I've found that generally seems to be the problem with older low mileage cars.

So many questions, I'll do my best to answer them all...

It can't be described as "mint", but for a 12 year old car, it's pretty immaculate, and has certainly been well looked after, both interior and exterior. It quickly becomes apparent when you meet and quiz the owner, as to how it's been cared for.

Full leather, heated front seats, carbon interior trim, sunroof, aircon.

Anyway, back to the thread - MRC!

I know, I've already experienced that with the S4 - and I blame MRC for that too! The first mod was an MRC remap and the rest, as they say, is history...!

Me too - a good 2 hour journey each way - my nearest local independent Audi specialist

Although, I can't think of where else I'd take it - can you imagine of anywhere else where the machanic will explain everything he's doing, give you tips along the way, and won't let the car go until he's absolutely satisfied with it?! Oh, and in addition to the drinks in reception, you can also use their phone charger (providing it's a Nokia of course)

Now you mention it, you're absolutely right - there's 2 bloody great grooves on either side of the roof - looks like someone has been ski-ing on it...! Ski??

I'm gonna ask for my money back...!
