MRC re-map - what can I expect ?

Dest - thanks for posting that info...was fascinating to get a more detailed idea of what they do ona remap...and why they charge £500 for it. Even tho' on honesty I didn't understand verymuch of the techie stuff!!

I especially liked this quote, take from their page of "what do we do when you come for real time mapping..."

ANOTHER thought on the Motosport people Dest mentions... their website says for an S2 they'd expect to give you an extra 30bhp... NOT the 50 bhp that MRC talk about???

what sort of power figures can u expect from a stock rs2 after a remap? and what would it be after a 3" exhaust and cone filter?

The people that mapped my car called RH motorsport also map it on the road, however they drive the car. One time I got a ride with them, and trust me I wont be doing that again. Doing 6500 RPM in 4th gear on a small country road - Not Nice

That is for their Evolution chip, which is generic like a Superchip for example, NOT a custom live remap!

Just book it in with MRC, you won't be disappointed with the results...

I have had all my cars mapped by MRC, good results everytime. (Agreed they havent mapped my hilux)

Yes of course other companies can do the same thing. But its the end result at the end of the day. Some remaps from other "tuning firms" have had certain features removed such as boost control or knock control. The usual line for this is that "its easier like this", well i personally wouldnt want either of those turned off, esp. boost control as you dont get the proper torque kick or controlled boost at high revs.

On another note, when i was tuning my S2 back in the day, most of the big name tuners told me that there was no way that motronic on the S2 could deliver more than 420bhp, without going for aftermarket ECU's. MRC disproved that to me and by the end of my ownership i had 600bhp and was still running ALL controls and sensors, with no problems.

I have no personal experience with Automark or the other companies mentioned so i can comment on their work, but i know i can trust what MRC do.

going on from what audiman has wrote, this is why I will be going to MRC once I get everything fitted to mine, they know there stuff as they specialise in the cars and not just anything that rolls up to there gates. Plus results have been tried and tested, 600bhp from a standard ecu system sounds top notch
