As I post this I'm actually watching a DVD about rallying in the 80s, Just got to the bit about how one of the drivers (not in an Audi) came over a crest to find the road full of people, 20 spectators were hit and 4 of them died. The group B supercars were banned at the end of 86 and Audi withdrew from the sport altogether.
