I was on the phone to my local dealer yesterday (the best of the bunch locally aswell ) and after giving him the part number for the two screws I was after for the plug cover on the 3B, (to save the usual rigamaroll), and after all the odd n sods Ive got off him for an S2 he still comes out with, " oh yeah, the S2 - that was the uprated 80 wasnt it!!!"

On the sales figures I wish I could find the figure for the number of S2's actually sold in the UK alone - I seem to remember that it was quite low compartiavely - rare beasts indeed!

According to S2 Central total Coupes numbered 782 and Avants 320, I make that 1102 in total (no Sedans sold in UK).

Seems like a fair but superficial review to me, although I'm applying his comments to my RS2 rather than an S2. Overall he respects the vehicle which is what it deserves. I can't see the problem myself as most people here have set out to improve their cars to nullify the criticisms in the article.

Even standard as the writer says, these cars have stood the test of time and can still mix it with the modern stuff. I can't see more modern Audi vehicles doing the same.
