Does anybody know the difference between a ABY/3B Airfilterbox except the lid. I have a 3B car, and no airbox. So i borrowed a mates ABY airbox, And i cant shut the hood properly, The lid on the box hits the hood. why??

What are the lugs?? Those "plugs" on the side?? That fit in 2 holes in the wheel arch?? They were in anyway, and the bolt under the turbo.Comment

Yes, should fit ok, I had one on my 3B the bonnet lining touches the top of the box but it goes down ok.Comment

i think it touches the aby too as ost i have seen have an imprint of the heat shielding in the hood on 2/3rds of the top of the aby box

3B,ABY,ADU Airfilterboxes have the same mounts.
I have one from ADU/RS2 with 3" inlet in my type89 90 quattro 20v..... perfect fit

Old thread, I just fitted mine and it does look odd, really a lot higher than the 3B one, but side by side it's a no brainer, glad I got it now!1991 S2 3B Coupe, KW v1, solid sub frames, poly bushed, chipped, about 260 ish
