Complete and utter waste of time and effort. I sent it to Audi UK and Audi in Germany. Only Audi germany acknowledged they'd received my email and the supplied link to the petition, Audi UK couldn't even be arsed to reply.

Yes most urq bits are linked in some way with other audi/vw but if they go NLA for the urq it is almost the same for the other cars

What's to stop Audi setting up a heritage division as a profit centre ?

I'm not pretending that Audi (or any manufacturer) would do things in the parts department for older cars for charitable reasons. I'm no commercially minded guru, but they *could* outsource the manufacturing under license with official designs/drawings and only need a skeleton staff to run the system.

Audi has already spent or written off the big money in designing, testing and tooling charges for these parts. Don't scrap the tooling after 10 years - ****ing license it to someone else and take a share in the profits.

As long as they charge a reasonable (subjective of course) price then we'll be delighted.

I'm also not pretending we need 3 day leadtime on all rare items - if its only cost effective to make 100 of them every 3 months then so be it - that would be a start.

Hmmmm audi offered audifans, club audi and quattroownersclub a branch 4 or 5yrs ago for parts etc by joining the ACI but guess what ..............none of the groups wanted to join cos it was against their own agendas

Problems run deeper than this.....

There are Ur parts wich were out-sourced by VAG and made by companies which don't exist any more. Other firms were taken-over and have probably been taken-over again.

IF there was profit in it, then I'm sure the bean counters would be there like a shot.

Truth is that a CV boot, a few diff seals and the odd piece of trim does not make a dragon invest in setting up a business.

Take off the petrol-head, be pragmatic for a moment, and accept this isn't going to happen.

There are lots of MG owners who can't write in Chinese - they still have warranty questions on ther lips. Perhaps we should be grateful as owners and make te best of a bad aftersales job.
