You for one should know Audifans (A web forum) hasn't got anything to do with clubs.

The AOC (Audi Owners Club) however, IS a member of the ACI (Audi Club International)
so is the QOC and Club Audi.
If you look at the website, you'll see it hasn't been updated since November 2007.

It's main purpose wasn't to supply parts, but to make it easier for Audi AG to communicate with all official Audi based clubs worldwide through one medium.

Never say never, but it seems clear that Audi is not going to have a change of heart and support older models.

The most logical solution is if Audi was to hand over what drawings and data still exist to a company that will remanufacture parts. But there is no motivation on Audi's part to do this.

There is a gap in the market for a company to manufacture or subcontract parts for a range of VAG cars - if you include all the enthusiast supported Audis and VWs from the late 1970s on especially given the common parts that exist across the ranges.

Until or unless that happens we are going to have to look after ourselves. The sooner we accept it the better.

I believe getting a slot on either 5th Gear (or even Top Gear at a push) might be useful.Try and shame them into action perhaps....

MikeS2 found out the other week that the timing belt for the UR, (MB I think, forgive me if wrong) is now NLA from Audi. Same belt as used on 2.2 5 pot KV's as it happens. A huge amount of those still on the roads, relatively speaking.
As Rob points out above, a "last five minute" replacement from GSF isn't going to cut it, especially on something as important as a timing belt.

            Madness.

yep - the timing belt with 120 teeth as fitted to JS, WR, KV, MB, 1B and MC engines is NLA.

There must be close to 300000+ of these engines made.

Point is, if that part can go NLA, any part can. oil filters will be next
