Think a RS4 is around 250.000 US$ about the same as in Denmark.
We pay an extra tax for the cars in Denmark and Norway. In Denmark is 180% extra, so if a car is like 100.000$ then we would properly pay close to 300.000$

Well that certainly makes a huge difference. The guy talks of even a used RS4 costing over 250,000 USD!
Given that he works for an Audi part dealer (so I presume he gets a discount) AND that he was able to perform all the work himself it starts to look a lot less crazy.
Now if only it didn't have that 1.9TDI engine ... hmm, could he squeeze an I5 in there ...?
Because IMO a car that looks fast and ISN'T is pointless.
I am not doing down the work and I did not read the thread, jsut looked at the pictures, but I could see there was some debate over there about it too.
It does LOOK very nice though.
Cheers,
Steve

I disagree people could say that of your car it looks good but say someone like Audiman's old S2 was a lot faster so you maintaining it and polishing it is pointless.
Is Jas11n TDI conversion to S2 spec pointless?
Fair play to the guy is what I say as it takes guts time, patience and a fair bit of skill to mod a car and a little thinking outside the box.
And until people have tried to do it themselves give the guy some respect as it's a work of art.
I did not at any point disrespect the guy for his hard work or creativity!
All is said was IMO an RS4 replica TDI is pointless.
I don't think you can compare Jas's S2Sediesel with this.
Jason's cost <£1000, the one above must have been £25k+. (I do understand the real RS4 is Mega bucks over there too!)

Steve

If fuel and the physical engine itself is also ludicrously expensive in norway, i can kind of see the point if he really likes the look of the RS4. A lot of things are pointless if you look at them with a purely logical point of view, such as carbon b-pillar trims, etc....
i admire his work, but i wouldnt do anything like that to car that it's engine is so inferior.I would definitelly put something stronger in there.Otherwise it is a waste of money IMO.
Of course he may be doing it for promotion reasons for a shop etc.( didnt read the thread either,i just saw the photos)

He does explain in the thread why he keeps the diesel. Again, it's a money/tax issue.
I think the whole project is damned impressive if not to my personal taste.
