Well I went to get my solar roof out tonight to take some pictures....

To my horror as ugly as it looked it had a huge tear down the centre of it.

However to my delight its some kind of coating that just peals off!!!!!

I know the main glass is cracked but am happy to live with that due to how rare it is.....

This is what was revealed under the awful looking protective coating!!!

So after a further 20 mins of peeling....

A quick test under 2 strip lamps and it is outputting 4.2V so in daylight that should be pretty good.

My aim is to use it for trickle charging the battery instead of driving the blower motor.

It will help with my car stood about so often...

      Nightmare S2

Not had a minute to myself for what feels like months so managed to do some work towards my s2 today.....

      Spec so far
      Wossner 81.5mm pistons 8:1
      H Beam Rods
Head work with 3 cut valves
      RS2 inlet manifold
      RS2 exhaust manifold
      RS2 injectors
      5bar fuel pressure regulator
RS2 hybrid turbo with billet compressor wheel.
      ABY inlet cam
      7A exhaust cam
      Ported/rebuilt RS2 wastegate
      Machined steel cam pulley

Hopefully I will get some time in the next month or so between chassis swaps to get it put in. I need to swap my 3B loom to ABY and then I will be installing a VEMS ECU to run it too

Engine looks great. FYI I calc'd my "8.01:1" Wossners at 8.5:1. With a mild deck skim more like 8.6:1

So after months of no time for myself my hand has been forced as some muppet has run into my car again!!!!

So time for a revamp at last....
Last night decided as the bumper is off its time to sort out the engine bay etc.

                So now you see it....

                Now you don't

I have had a notchy 2nd gear when changing anything above 4000rpm so decided to swap gearbox too.

And as I am changing from 3B to ABY I wanted to swap the loom and fit digital climate and my solar sunroof. So out with interior too

So "The Tom" has been let loose in my engine bay to clean and tidy it.....
                Shown here in etch

I want to keep abs but as the battery has been relocated to under the back seat, the ABS is now in a silly place in the engine bay.
So I have moved the brackets to now house it closer to the bulkhead allowing more space for catch tank and meth injection later

Nice work. Let's see what that rs2 billet turbo will do.

Sorry to see your front bumper Bri. As you say at least it's given you a nudge to get that old tatty looking motor fitted fella

Hope to be up to yours soon to lend a helping hand

That sucks. Did they stop/offer to pay?

You're going to need bigger than RS2 injectors
To make anything good with the billet wheel as they will
Max out on a stock RS2 turbo.

usually billet wheels that are identical in configuration to the original one, but just made of aluminium, dont produce more power, but better reaction and mid-range benefits. As the wheel Brian has is similar to what turbo-dynamics once produced for the garrett turbos, results showed same overall final power figure and slightly better early reaction and midrange torque. So i think he should be fine with the rs2 injectors. Nevertheless i think he does have something planned or already ordered for the future.
