Ive also been in touch with a Japanese RS2 owner who told me all Japanese RS2's were not officially imported by Audi Japan but by another company - plus some personal imports. In total he thinks Japan has/had around 50 RS2's.

I could import the RS2 from Japan.Only condition is the car must be cut in a half as being imported as wrecked,spare parts not a functional car.
Or i need to buy a cheapo audi 80 and tricky the officer by removng the vin number plate from 80 and weld it back on the RS2.

Just remember they are all LHD.

I cant answer that, but I know of a couple that have been exported from Japan in the last few years.

There must be some niche/premium respect for LHD cars in Japan then - very odd…. Just as odd as getting wheels painted yellow I suppose. Taste is different across the world as we know but they must really like the RS2 if ~50 have been imported there - there cannot be many more RS2 in UK than that left on the road ?

Japanese love LHD prestige cars. Its a status thing. I know, its rather odd.
