    Garage required London South West

    Chaps

My rs2 decided it wants no more driving around unless an oil leak is fixed. Not sure where it is coming from but it seems that from yesterday's drive what used to be a small leak is now a much bigger losing pretty much about 1l of oil.

I can top it up and potentially drive a short distance but don't want to risk it.

I am therefore in need of a reputable mechanic around the above area for a fix.

I already have a few parts that may be related to the possible leak areas.

Please let me know where I can take the car as I don't want to mess around with people scratching their heads of how to fix this.

    Thanks

If you can get there (just West of London), I'll recommend Autopool in Iver.
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

Pete Berry would be a great choice, He is about 45 mins from SW London, A3, A24, A29. I know he is very busy though. Worth a call 01403 790054.

Whereabouts is the leak coming from approximately Vas?

It comes from the front area of the sump. Could be above the sump.

Personally I don't want to be charged 99 + vat for a diagnosis at Berkley and also be told that they only use OEM parts (which I mostly have).

On the other hand I'm a bit reluctant to drive for 45 mins with such high volume leak (the above photo is after 2mins on idle) so I'd have to organise transport to a garage.

Are these car transport companies? Usually I rely to my insurance for this and they contact whoever is meant to. I could suppose ask them to take the car to the garage of my preferance

Have you checked the two oil sensors on the side of the block? If it's leaking that much after 2 mins I'd say it's coming from somewhere pressurised, i.e. not the sump.

Good point, it could be an oil sensor, they're prone to leaking, I'll bet Vas has the rad shround in though, not super easy to remove..

The 2 numbers I've put up. Piggybackers has a small transit based transporter and he does short local runs.

Collect a car Peter is an old neighbour from just down the road, he does accident and breakdown recovery and has a full size pro car transporter. He's happy to do longer distance stuff.

Brian suggested the oil sensor and that is new. I hope it's a matter of tightening or replacing an o ring if there is one. I haven't bought any of those as replacements yet. Should I?

And those sensors can only be reached from the bottom, right?
