My Porsche logo looks like this from audi brochure.

    Post number #752
I can't post my own photo because i am in travel now.

    UrS4boy
    Thanks for decoding
I will post better photo as soon as possible.

Do you have any idea why vin number on the car is diffrent from number of this long build tag ?
Already i decoded vin at audi dealer but decoded options are not fully coincident with car.

I saw couple of build tags (RS2) decoded at audi dealer, none of it was coincident with car

For e.x body paint at the build tag inside trunk is Volcano Black, audi decoded list is Laser red.
Build tag from trunk is fully coincident with car

These sheets are often taped to the underside of the dash, I have seen a few of these.

If you every find one of these long tags again, could you post a crisply focused photo of the complete tag? I like decoding those ones.

"THE" as in THE prototype, not as in THE only, right? (There are others)

Hey Dave, I have the long tag from my RS2. I'll take a pic after work and post it up. I haven't compared it to my trunk tag so curious if its the same.

Sorry. Not sure if you are trying to wind me up or not, but you are wrong. There are production run RHD S2 saloons, not just one X9X pre-production RHD S2 saloon, out there. I have done at least two production run RHD S2 saloon build tag documents.

For example, Bruce W. and Andrew W. (not related) both have X7X RHD S2 sedans in New Zealand, (Polar Silver and emerald green, respectively).

                  Both cars are X7X:

X7Y National Sales Program Export (Other)

The only way to tell (other than the photos) that they are RHD cars is by the mirror codes. Both of these S2 saloons have these codes:

3AE Outer Right Rear View Mirror: Flat, Powered, Heated
3BF Outer Left Rear View Mirror: Convex, Powered, Heated (this is the only clue that is is a RHD vehicle)

There is a whole thread on this topic started by GolfBoy666GTI. Bruce W is "Whatever2" and Andrew W is "number21". Bruce W. posted photos. I have photos of Andrew's car that he sent me when I did his build tag document.

                          Not rude, just pedantic.

Either way, I just found out that the decoder I am using didn't see the A just the MJ9 so what I posted most definitely is likely wrong, re: 6 cylinder.

Just figured it out. Year in Deutch is "jahr". So model year would be Modelljahr, i.e. "MJ". and 1994 Model year would be MJ94.

                              Duh.

                              Thanks for the correction Nace

Fixed my post with this: "EDIT: MJ94 = Modelljahr 94, 1994 Model Year, which fits with the "R" = 1994 in RZ000170, etc."
