On the walnut trim I've been gonna change mine for years to carbon but just seem to always decide against it, I think the walnut looks distinguished

I spoke to the guy I sell my scrap cats to and he said it's not that uncommon for cats to breakdown and poop themseleves out the exhaust.

I agree Walnut is indeed distinguished, you can can tell the car belongs to discerning gentleman.

I'm going to have loads of really nice walnut and black leather in my 100 Avant, fitted the leather seats today as it happens. Going to start a project thread regarding the car over the weekend as I have lot's of cool plans for it, that 30V is going to be a great source of parts!

Very soon mate, I'm actually putting together three full systems by sniping deals off eBay, one for the conservatory, one for the living room and a more basic but non the less nice set up for in my workshop.

Got another four items arriving tomorrow that I got for super bargain prices from a charity set up.

Yep there are some true bargains to be had, still waiting for a few things to turn up and I already had the amp and single tape deck. Also have have a serious speaker up grade as going to using one of my sets of HS5's in the conservatory.

Gone for a set of HS8's & 5's in living room. Got a really nice 1989 amp, tuner and CD player turning up today along with some 50W RMS 1980's technics speakers that I got from a charity seller for £80

The small tuner is going with a matching integrated amp and tape deck in my workshop along with the technics speakers

Cheers Lee and no problem, it's been a pleasure to be able to help, as I've mentioned I used to pretty much live on here and it feels great be back.

Hope you can get your air-con system up and running soon, will be watching with interest as it's job I have to tackle on my RS2, though as I don't currently drive I'm not in the same sort of hurry as you.

I have boxes and boxes of parts, some quite rare and sought after, now my eBay account has had it's restrictions lifted I can get on with listing more stuff on there again. I still don't know quite what I've gotten in the attic of my workshop altogether. There's loads B3/4 stuff and well as C4 parts and even some 1.8T bits, not to mention the Corrado and MK2 golf odds and ends some of which is worth really good money. I could basically start a shop with all the various component's I've stashed away.

When I was really ill I came very close to scrapping most of it as I don't like having car parts in the house and I could barely move in my workshop, bloody glad i didn't!

However I must be carful not to take on too much when it comes to selling stuff, due to my anxiety I tend to worry about everything and when that happens nothing gets done, though things are far better now I'm finally on the appropriate medications and leading a very healthy life style.

Going to be getting a lift installed soon, Dave's recommended one that seems very good value which should fit at a pinch. I have a pit which is much better than working on the deck, though once your used to the luxury of using a lift as I do at work everything seems so much harder not having one. Once it's fitted my RS2 restoration can start in earnest, I plan on being super fussy with that car, my previous projects have always been function over form but I'm going be taking my time to ensure I do as good as job as I can. Fortunately I have a filing cabinet full mostly new of RS2 specific component's that I've collected since I got the car from Eric over in southern Ireland back in 2015.

Just had the bargain technics stuff I picked up the other day delivered so I'm happily playing with that at moment to make sure it all works, I purchased it all from a hospice charity and they don't provide any sort of guaranty so I took a gamble on some late 1980's stuff which is in really nice condition. The quality of Technics hifi equipment back then is considerably better than todays tat.

Once that's done I'm off down the workshop to clean my RS2 so hopefully will be posting some pic's of that latter.

The top three of these along with the speakers came from a hospic charity for £80, just tested them and they all work perfectly. The speakers are awesome being 50W rms, not upto the same standard as my Yamahas, but they have a lovely warm sound. Almost too good for my workshop but I like my sounds, be it radio four or music so I'm I'm sure they will sound great down there. For £30 you can't go wrong!

Dam right, CD's are still a relatively new concept for me.

As I said the quality of these old technics separate's is leagues ahead of the stuff available nowadays unless one spends a fortune. I've even got the remote controls for most of the stuff I've sniped off eBay.

I'm looking forward to making the sperate seats and twin sofa's for my conservatory out the velour C4 stuff I've got that no one wants to buy as I sure as hell ain't chucking the stuff away, what could be more green!

And I reckon an Audi I5 coffee table will look really cool, might even partially section the old NG block I'm going to use.

Even though I said I was sick of car parts in the house, done nicely I think it'll give the room a nice retro feel and who doesn't like the smell of velour.

Yeah it's great stuff, there is better, but for the money it's hard to beat. I've been snipping separate's from eBay for great prices, all late 80's and very early 90's stuff and it's much better quality than todays over complicated rubbish. Plus you can get some real bargains on there, I've even put together a basic set up for my workshop. I know everybody use's MP3's etc these days but I've only just adopted CD's I'm that much of a Luddite, still listen to most my music on vinyl.
