OE Harness holder in OE location. Audi actually had these available.
Elements are a series wire design and total a 2 Ohm load new unused. So they are rated at or very close to 100W, based on assuming 14.4V system voltage.
Small pins have a 9.38K Ohm resistance, which goes down if you put a hot water bottle on the seat, so it’s clearly a thermostatic design with a 10K NTC Thermistor. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

I was going to install the seat today, but hit a snag..
it was going so well, and then I discover I have ordered the wrong backrest release levers from AT. The stick part is too short and it turns out there are two versions. Typical…
The “Final Edition” “Sports” seats have a few different parts from Mark 4 Golf era.. This is one of the gotchas… This is a weird 8G0 coded part that has an Audi shaped lever but a Mark 4 Golf shaped fitting. Could probably also fit Mark 4 Golf levers that have finger loops. I’ll hold that thought…
….so, 61 Euros for a set of 6 plus clips and a wait for DHL. Probably import VAT too. Grrr..
I used originalteilemarkt.de on this occasion. Only ones who had new old stock. Nearly unobtainium now so bought spares..You do not have permission to view this gallery.

So, after accepting the order and charging me, originalteilemarkt.de say the seat knobs are not available. This means I now need to find seat backrest release knobs...
If anyone has a secret stash of 8G0881634 they have a home in my project and a paying customer! PM me and they are sold! I need 3. Preferably spares as well. Long shot but worth a mention.
if anyone has solved this problem in a more elegant or creative way I'd love to hear about it

New handles/levers came. Have 2017 and 2021 date stamps. Trial fitted without clip to test fit/look and share.
8G0881634 (unobtanium) is a hybrid of these. It has the smaller but longer stem of the left pic, and the simple non-loopy prism-looking lever of the right pic.
The finger loopy ones are:
1J3881634B - Handle R/H Black
1J3881633B - Handle L/H Black
Matching small clips are:
6H0881635 (and NOT 895881247)
…
…based on how these fit and look I think I’ll just go with the newer parts. The look is a bit unexpected, but they are new, genuine and fit perfectly, which I say is better than second hand cracked ones that have been reversed off the clips.
These are (annoyingly) designed as single-fit destroy-on-removal parts. Not strictly OE, but hardly a “pimp my ride” mod.
They are also handed and angled towards the seat pulling direction. A bit modern/ergonomic for this vehicle era but it’s all that’s available new…You do not have permission to view this gallery.

Have you considered these?
https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/...knob-left.html
I can't confirm if they fit or not but they are listed for Mk3 Golfs etc if that offers any clues for you.
There's also these which are not exactly inexpensive:

I’m half way through re-leathering the backrest back panel for the passenger seat.
With these I have used the Velvet Beige leather to keep the central/edge colour scheme true right through. They were vinyl originally (cheap).
I have also “deleted” the worn nets. They really were not very nice at all. I filled in the holes left with fiberglass and sanded them flat before leathering.
That’s 3mm scrim foam and Trim Fix contact from Martrim. Really good stuff! You do not have permission to view this gallery.
