Ditto, I have had a prolapsed disc in the past and it is NOT fun. This sounds even worse. Best of luck in your speedy recovery David.

Wow, glad they caught that so quickly David!

I have a similar(ish) issue in my neck which gives me pain and pins & needles in my arms. The consultant said that they would wait until my quality of life was unbearable before they operate as they would have to drill out the vertebrae where the nerves come through and so it is a risky operation

Bloody spines eh! They can cause so much pain and grief when they go wrong as I know from experience.
Maybe we should start a section on the forum about general wear and tear on our bodies!!
