Where is the ECU on the S2 (Sorry still working my way around this car) Just wanting to see if it's been tampered with.

Yep. Reading that historical thread it implies the superchip solution doesn’t use N75 whereas other modifiers do.

It was a good spot, and glad it got noticed.

I can only apologise, you didn’t even come here this morning looking for help with a period modification/lash up.

Check part numbers of course -you only need cap.

No, I just trying to put the car back to standard, so would like the original parts. It's also insured as "No modifications" so as I now know this is a mod (and a bad one at that) I would prefer the unmodified parts.

Well I think I answered my own question about walking into a world of pain.. The answer plain & simple is yes I did...

Agree, it’ll work as is, but you’ll probably need a new wastegate cap if you reverse engineer it as that hole will be massive.

The good news is I doubt you’ll need a new wastegate. The bad news is figuring out what to do next. I’d be tempted to put it back as is (assuming it worked) and seek counsel from the great and the good as to either leaving it or reverse engineering it.

It was the 90s, people outside of OEMs hadn't really worked out what EFI was by this point, so preferred to muck about with the mechanicals.

That and standalone EFI for road cars was completely in its infancy, and was horrid.

Yes it’s a total bodge, I’ve not seen it for a long time as most have been ‘un-superchipped’ already

    That’s a bit Neanderthal isn’t it?

    It's off..

This is what I found. It's looks like the modification allows you to put more pressure on the spring keeping the gate shut.
