You need what I have:

This is brilliant. It even comes with a short plug with cables terminated with rings to allow you to connect to the battery permenantly and then just plug and play when you want to use it. I have installed this under the rear seat and cable tied the plug where the base of the rear seat meets the body. I only have to reach into the car behind the back seat to plug it in.
I HAVE to charge my S2 once a fortnight or the alarm will drain it. This charger can be left plugged in ALL the time too...
