Did you shorten the car yourself? What kit is on there? Dialynx?

looks dialynx to me,i have built 2 several years back,i got front wings, bonnet, bumpers from dialynx made of fibreglass, and rear quarters from a guy in manchester made of kevlar, first time round i used an 88mb quattro which was very rotten, having sat unused for about 5 years, next time round i used an 86 coupe quattro, but i had to make new sills as they are different on the ur,building the shell took approx 3 months working only evenings,i sold my second one unfinished as i was moving workshops at the time and had no storage, wish i had kept it now as body panels are getting quite rare,i dont think dialynx are making them anymore

it has never been anywhere near dialynx . it is the dialynx kit but not from dialynx though .someone else shortened the car for me and put the roll cage in plus sills . i did everything else myself . i've got all the pictures in every stage of shortening and of rebuilding most of the parts are one offs whole front end can just be bolted off so the engine can be pulled out easily .

i bet the kit is a copy from an old dialynx one,i made the front end of my last one in one piece, bumper and grille as one piece, much easier to get round the engine with no front!!only other major mod was the brake linkage from the pedal box to ns of the engine bay, only meant making a few holes in the bulkhead, shortening the shell is the easy bit,re assembly, and re making all the bits of trim, rear quarter windows, prop etc is all quite time consuming,i used the whole loom from an mb quattro including the digital dash, there is certainly a few wires to deal with if you do a complete loom change!!!!im sure you probably know all this!!!

doug remember about a week ago i asked you about k26/27 hybrid how much power can be had ? well its for this car .and quattro nutter my rad is in the boot so a lot more pipe work . i'm looking for the wiring loom to power my digital dash the green one if you have one or know someone who has can you let me know please .this car has custom inlet, tubulor exhaust manifold rs2 injectors ,k26/27 hybrid turbo ,pauter rods ,water injection , heads been ported and polished by myself guide boss has been taken out valves have been reprofiled, 7a cams , arp head studs ,gonna run 5 speed gearbox for now standard clutch but i already have 6 speed box waiting to go in .gotta get the transmission tunnel modified first . inside is all stripped out ( even most of the sound deadning ) no roof lining carpets or rear quarter cards just got 2 cobra evolution seats ,water injection tank and a battery oh and a fire extiguisher ,i think anything around the 400 bhp mark should be more than enough in this light car but if not i can always strip the engine and start again .

So you did. It didn't click that you were the guy Sal always goes on about! It all depends on the spec of that turbo then (and the limit of the injectors 430bhp ish), but you are good for a lot more.

i know the potential is there to run a lot more .i can do all mechanical work myself so its not a problem to strip it and go further ( i hope sal says good things about me and not bad things ) i just wanna get it running for now and then change things if need be . i know these engines are solid and is probably 1 of 2 reasons why i drive audis along with the quattro system . i'm trying to make my own parts out of stainless steel so they dont rust . i know it puts on a bit more weight but no rust .its also got 3 inch exhaust system straight through 2 boxes (sounds like a big bike ) including downpipe side exit. 21 litre water injection tank ( i know ) got a bit excited besides i wanted to balance the car a bit better so the battery and tank sit behind me and the rad in the boot . it should put a bit of weight to the back the quattro's were nose heavy .made my own coilovers you guessed it collars out of stainless steel . boot floor has a big hole at the bottom to let air in and the boot lid has vents cut out to let air out .painted in ferrari formula 1 red i wanted the deepest red i could get been waiting since may for azev a wheels probably end of october before they arrive .

Ah okay, I understood that they offer a bespoke service, but the time you have been waiting is a little disappointing to see the least.

Did you request a custom offset or other feature?

I don't think I can find that many interested parties. I'll place an order for 48 additional sets as spares to hurry things along (just in case I kerb them).

                            Cheers.
