If it’s really sticky and either in approx 2mm dots or streaks or smaller and leaves hard to remove (almost damage) to the paint... It’s bee pollen wax. It’s a ba$tard on fresh paint. I’m guessing you’ll have oil seed rape or lots of pollen producing fields within a couple of miles radius.85 WR Urquattro, 85 20vT International liveried RallyRep

It’s like clay or fine sand, maybe 4mm blobs
I’ll take pics tomorrow.
Read an article about how some kinds of wasps do this, mud wasps? We just have normal wasps

I've had this on my car recently. Came out one morning and there were spots all over the bonnet and roof. About 5mm each, reddish mud spots. It wasn't the Saharan rain all over the car, just spots. It looked like I'd been for a drive behind a muddy tractor, but the car hadn't moved for a week and I hadn't been down any back roads. It was definitely mud of some kind, fine but gritty. This was in Bristol.91 Modded 3B

It’s sand I think, probably from the Sahara
