    URGENT Help Required please!!

Hi, am after someones help please, Unusually my S2 let me down today and broke down after going over a small pothole, at 1st I thought it was the clutch as it would not go in gear but then grinding and wasn't working as it should the car wouldn't drive. Since this morning after being recovered and dropped off at the garage that looks after it they have told me the rear left passenger side drive shaft has gone and as usual Audi no longer make it, can anyone help me please

    Many thanks Anthony

Driveshafts don't normally snap unless you are doing something utterly stupid, much more likely that the bolts have come undone on the CV joint, or one of the joints have failed.

Both bolts and CVs are readily available and will make the shaft like new. Get it apart and assess for damage, and check the other side as well.

    Also don't panic

What he said, because a full replacement will hurt your wallet, even second hand on eBay.de (link).
Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...

Assuming you still have the shaft and it's not damaged you can replace the CV joints:
Coupe rears are SKF VKJA8005 inner and Spidan 22748 outer.

Utterly ridiculous price for something that has just had £150 worth of parts thrown at it, and a bad paint job!

Good luck finding standard driveshafts if you've snapped one.

Yes definitely, the shafts and the outer CV's are different.

I might have a spare coupe rear shaft if required. Need to check which side it is I have spare though.

I tried CPS many times and gave up. The guy I needed to speak to was never available and didn't call me back. You can get hold of new driveshafts from one of the members on here. Audrius can supply them if he has stock.

That's a shame, I have two sets of avant driveshafts at home. Could have spared one to help out

You might have lost the splines, that’s the normal failure mode for Coupe rear shafts.

I fitted a second hand one I bought off one of the lads on here but I have a pair of the bombproof Russian Tank steel ones off Audrius on the shelf to fit at some point. ..
