New E10 petrol, does this work ok on our cars?

Hey guys!! I.was told today a new fuel is coming in, called E10. Its apparantly a 10% addition of ethanol to the mixture we have of petrol.

Its coming this summer 2021

Most modern cars can take this fuel. I checked on the gov website and it said Audis would be fine, but to be sure we have to contact Audi.

Does anyone else know any more information on this?

Shell super unleaded isn't going to contain any ethanol (for now), so I'm sticking to that. Ethanol attacks some rubber seals and absorbs moisture over time which isn't good for us that do low mileage!

95 is already E10
98/99 is E5 apart from Esso and Shell in certain regions. (Esso in SE UK is labelled E5 at the pump not contains no Ethanol for the time being)

Most cars have been OK with a small percentage of Ethanol since about 1990.

It does absorb moisture though so keep the tank topped up.

And it’s organic so bacteria grow in it. It will block jets in carbs and full fuel filters with brown sludge.

Use 98/99 wherever possible if your car is not a daily driver.
As the S2 has a turbo it should always be run on as high an octane as you can get anyway.

The S2 is turbocharged, it needs 98 or 99 RON anyway.

Its not really news thats hot off the press any more and Information is out there, its easy to find but maybe it needs to be even easier

Have you tried octane booster? I bet the car would fly.
