Mrs has a normal A3 V8, and have to say the 8V platform is very solid. There are very few issues with the platform and there are no real horror stories about the RS either. Just make sure the Haldex is serviced and the filter is either cleaned or replaced. I would have that filter cleaned regardless of the haldex being serviced or not (Audi dealers don't clean the filter). Also if for some reason the prop shaft has to be removed then make sure the person does the job knows about the centre bearing. It's easy damaged if the person does not know how to remove it correctly and your looking at a £1500 bill for a replacement

Couldn't agree more ref servicing, I've done a few and the filters get absolutely minging. There's some kits available on line which come with oil, filter, syringe and seals etc. Seem to remember TPS won't supply?
