After buying a nice condition set of clocks from a cabby thinking I would be able to swap my S2 clocks into them found out there are very small differences between them never easy with these cars is it

Even the locator pins that hold the graphics screen in place are different WHY Audi, Why

The late cabbie clocks are different. Early vdo 2.6/2.8 are very close.

Is there a way of separating the front perspex without wrecking it ?

I've never tried. I made up a lovely spare S2 cluster from the 2.6 cabbie I broke. That was unusual as it had the fuel computer.

I can probably get them to fit but it will mean a bit of cutting and removing internal bits very frustrating

Id say one of them is made by VDO and other by UN4. They look similar but are not. Bulb faceplate, OTD and check/BC is only common things between them.

Well with clipping and chopping I can get them to fit so will use the case on my clocks

I concur...been down that road. The time clocks are also different
