Didn't get quite it done in quick as normal as it takes while to produce proper coffee. Good thing to have everythung to hand It was a 2016 Ford Focas, not exactally sure of model. He's amd 56 did most of the work,

As far a my Corrado is concerned... Door card off and un wired ready to remove the bent one tomorrow. But I did lift the carpet in that area and there is slight damage to inside as well as the the floor.

So a G60 quattro is looking very likely.... Then it pissed down which stopped proceedings.

Doing a spread sheet of what get for the parts it does look like it would be more practical as well.

Just reading my thread back and have realised the last few posts make very little sense. I meant to add that a mate called around with a Ford Focus desperatly needing the nearside wheel replacing.

So I put the kettle while having a quick look on YouTube to see what the job entailed, nothing too difficult, used the welding method to extract the old out race out of the carrier. Then whilst it was warm I managaed to fit the bearing (which had been in the freezer) using my maasive new vice.

Took about an hour altogether as my mate is pretty competant so I left him to striping down then putting it back together whilst I did things for myself.

Moved the Corrado today into position ready for an engine swap, started on the button and sounded lovely, left it running for 10 min's to get it upto temp.

          Then the rain stopped play.

Am back home after spending some time with my folks... Have just about finished processing the C4 30V, it's amazing how many parts are worth slavaging...

If anyone need an electrical conector odds are I've got it one, cut the lot of a couple of looms before weighing them in, got £50 for two C4 looms and a few other bit's of random wire which I thought was okay, plus more crap gone!

Got the entire front end from the 30V to go on my 12V C4, it'll be made to look nice in future for now I just want it functional and all that lot is in pretty good condition, will pass an MOT anyway. Fitted the leather seats to get them out the way and another job aout the way.

My B3 80 and Corrado G60 getting to know each other before perhaps mating, been looking at the engine bay lay outs as well as wiring and reckon the G60 lump will fit well and the electrics are pretty straight forward. Fitted the last of my C4 Velour seats to the 80 so I can get shot of the Coupe ones that were in there, might go for something more sporty in future but these will do for now.

Plan is to get my C4 on four wheels again before I do anything else and get it ready for an MOT... Only big job is the exhaust, I flogged the Cat's as they were in poor condition and worth a surprising amount. More than enough to make it worth getting shot of them and replacing either with a sports Cat or a couple of small straight through boxes. I want to be quiet but still have a nice V6 burble, at the moment with just the header pipes it's bloody loud!

They're not a straight fit, the center runner is in the correct place and size wise their fine... However the rear legs need chopping and welding to get them in the tracks. It's not super technical, as long as you've got a MIG then it's pretty straight forward.

Urs4/6 seats can be put into a b3 easily. Bases can be swapped over no welding required.

That's quite right David, however I don't have any spare B3 bases so moddifying the C4 legs is my only option.

That's why I hoard everything I can, it always comes in useful to me or someone else.

I do have the pair of Coupe seat's that are currently for sale, if they fail to sell those will be the front seats for my 80 instead... Hence I'm yet cut and welded the C4 ones, they're just mounted in the centre runner but I've done the same thing to make Audi seats fit MK2 Golfs in the past and it's pretty much the same job and my welding has gotten much better.

                          Quick update on this...

I am now offically breaking my Corrado G60, it really pains me to do it but makes considerably more sense than a repair and full respray which will take 100's of hours of my time which is better spent working on my Audi's.

Not to mention the cost of actually painting the whole car, even if I do all the prep myself including putting the primer on it will still cost between £1500 and £2K.

I've advertised parts on the Corrado Forum and have a bit of interest on there, a guy is going to collect a load of stuff which is great.

The B3 80 will be getting the super low millage engine and charger and I want the fuel pumps and complete assemblys for my G60 Golf which requires both, I do have new bare pump units on the shelf but using the complete componants from my Corrado will save a lot of time and the parts are all in great condition.

Just gotten my bottle of Argo Shield back from a mate who borrowed it to use on site as his full size bottle takes some shiftting! Though he's barely used any which is appreciate, means I can get on with fabricating exhausts for my C4 and B3 project.

I'm decating both of them but fitting straight through boxes in their place to keep things quiet, I'm too old now for loud cars.

The B3 will be getting a custom system built using exhaust boxes I have in stock including the Stainless Stell Jetex back box from my S2 which is a straight fit, though I need to neck the inlet side down from 3" back to 2.5" or 2.75" depends on what size the pipe work coming from the engine side is. That car is probably going to have very simple system consisting of a front box in place of the Cat with a bung welded in for the Llambda sensor then another simple box in the exhaust tunel before going straight to the back box.

The C4 V6 system is a bit more complicated as it has two down pipes which did feed into to a pair of large Cat's, I want to try and convert it to just using a single large box but will have to see what I've got that fits and is practical.

Cheers, I thought it would make for something a little differnt and I like working with what I have as oppossed to having to buy stuff, I reckon the serious torque and wide power band of a G60 engine will work very well with quattro drive power in a light chassis.

I moved the Corrado into breaking position last night after spending the day bloody gardening which turned into a bit of a performance when I hit a rock with the mower and snapped 3"s off the end of the blade which thankfully didn't do any other damage I just had to spend a while fishing it out of the grass box... It could have spat itself out through the body of the mower quite easily. So I had to get the welder set up (which takes ages as it's 30 years old a bit tetchy) from being used to weld 3mm plate to an approx 1mm thick blade, still at least it's ready for exhaust work now. Then I had to grind the weld back to balance it again as well as sharpen it. All in all it probably added two hours to my day and i was already hot and a little cross, still it was good to get welder going again, not used it in over a year.

Decided the Audi Coupe seats I've got are going in the 80 as they're much more sporty and comfortable, plus they're really nice velour and just go striaght in, the C4 one's got burnt last night as I was packing up, hell they went up well. Will add some pic's and details when I'm on my phone.

Got a nice chap on the Corrado forum coming to take a load of stuff soon and I know as soon as I put a breaking add on eBay I'll be very busy and much richer!

C4 front seats burn really well, plus they're bloody heavy so am glad to be shot of them, now they can go on my scrap heap after I beat them with stick to get the ash off.

Corrado shifted into place for breaking, note the offside back wheel that didn't want to shift despite a good beating and returning the hand brake arm to it's stop, so I used the starter motor in short bursts to get it where I wanted it. Had a look at the inside of my 80, the carpet and sound insulation is long gone, it was absolutely stinking so got burnt years ago along with the original seats.

However all the post trims are still in place as are the door cards with the cloth removed. I want the car to be as light as practical though I'm going to retain the front door cards, I'd forgotten the fronts actually have electric windows which both still work along with the central locking which is nice and a useful so that can stay... they need going over with panel wipe to get rid of the glue but will look fine in plain black plastic. I guess I could remove the rear ones as well as the window mechanisms to save a couple of KG.

Loosing KG's is like adding bhp but free... Though apart from the headling I'll keep everything else stashed away, glad I didn't do it yesterday as it would gotten burnt. Will weight all the further crap I can remove and see how much more weight I've saved. The carpet and sound deading weighs a ton as it's almost invariably damp from minor leaks, or in this car case soaking as it leaked quite badly though I seem to have fixed that by clearing out the scuttle area. I have drain holes in floor still though so it stays dry in there..

Am pretty knackered today from yesterdays mowing activity, I can see why people like ride ons, push mowers take a surprising amount of effort unless they're driven, which mine isn't of course. Though it worked a lot better after I'd had the blade of to repair it then shapen and ballance it.

So am think of having a day fiddling about on the 80 seeing what I can remove, obviously stuff like front seat belts and sunvisors will be retained... The car also has a manual sunroof the functioning of which I'm yet to fully explore, I seem to recall it works though not sure if it tilits and slides.
