    Stainless Fixings etc

I bought some stainless allen cap bolts to refit my new rear seats in the CQ - the old ones were the crap phillips head locking bolts

Got me thinking about other problematic fastenings - particularly the bolts used to hold the front cross member and T-section on/together. I can't seem to find any in stainless though:-

    They look like this

and are an M6 1.75mm pitch i believe.
As far as i can tell the technical name for them is a "Hexagon Sheet-Metal Screw".

Anyone have any leads on these in stainless?

Would have thought most fixing/fastener outlets would have s/s hex head self tapper's (large 1.75 pitch).

Mmm, the ones that hold the front wings on would be nice to replace, I wonder what size they are? 1/4 x 1"?

              They are the same

I'm planning on doing the lot - as far as i can tell these are the screws and these are the washers

              Screws are the 6.3m x 19mm hex and the washers are M6 x 18 x 1.6mm (I think)
i'm going to order some to test them for fitment

                    right - first off
What a top notch service from A2A4 Fixings - Ordered yesterday afternoon. On my mat when i got home from work today

The screws and washer detailed above are correct:

The only difference being the washer on the factory screw is an interference fit.
The washers i got from A2A4 were an M6 - perfect fit would be an M5 i think, as it will be a slight interference with the screw thread. by my calculations about 0.2mm too small for the full thread diameter, although they should of course "screw" down the thread and hopefully seat properly at the end - anyway - what I have here will also work fine, resist the elements and look quite "bling" if thats your thing.

links above to the correct screws and washer type

Screws are 6.3m x 19mm hex head (sheet metal screws)
                    Washers are M6 x 18 x 1.6mm (penny washers)

No more rusty screws on the wings or slam panel

Here's how my first few look
