  • Recommended Garage/s

Couldn't find a relevant thread to stick this in, so started a new one, thought it might be of use to all , if others across the coutries, gave names of Garages (including dealers) that they've used for relevant jobs on their cars and their experiences, hopefully could be used as reference guide for others attempting to get particular work done, particularyly those north of the Thames

    Ingrams Audi, Ayr
Just had them do my timing & other belts and relevant other bits, including new hall sender, I supplied the hall sender, £320 total, very pleased . They've got at least 2 master techs who've been there for at least 20 years who I trust with the car when I don't have the tools or the time to do it. Don't wanna turn it into an advert so anybody wanting contact details etc please send a PM

I can also vouch for them as it was Eric that put me onto them when another 'Audi Specialist' garage couldn't get my car started after a month. They had it running the day they got it, even collected it from the other garage, did a full service with timing belt and water pump etc and fitted my braided hoses. Great stuff. Cheers again Eric

Locally to me (ish..) I would recommend APS in Brackey. It's run by the ex key staff members from AmD and they know their onions! IIRC they were rated No.1 at last years ADI Autometrix awards.
              RS2+ (now sold...)

                For Audis:

Renntech in Ellesmere Port. Tim is great, look at his RTR S2 Coupe for proof (youtube etc). Did loads of 1st class work for me at excellent prices.
He always has some lovely bits of kit at his place.
Passionate about his work and very meticulous. He even cleaned the leaves out of my oil cooler duct when working on my car.

                For VWs:

About 100m from Renntech is Tims brothers place. They do VWs and Audis, but mainly dubs.
Check out his TDi Golf as proof. I think it did something silly like a 10 sec 1/4!

I have used both places and thay stunned me with their honesty, professionalism and knowledge.
UrS6 - Homefry, Bailey DV, PiperX filter, Samco hoses, H&R springs, 3" D/P back zorst, 270bhp and 260ftlb

Rotting leaves produce acids which corrode the aluminium in the oil cooler and cause oil leaks or catastrophic oil loss.

Sorry, nothing to do with the leaves comment. Any mention of Tim being great brings back unhappy memories. Nice guy but That goes for QRSport too although when I dealt with these two they were one and the same. Maybe they've both improved since splitting. Sadly it's too late for me!

I can only go by what I've been told, but, I've heard that Tim left because he didn't like QRS's business practices toward their customers.
He is a nice guy, always got time for you, charges realistic prices etc etc etc. Even was going to take me out in his S2 on Oulton Park but I had already left for the day.
Never heard a bad thing said about him or his business.
Although, this comment about QRS is the ONLY good thing I've heard about them.
These aren't my personal feelings. I can only comment on and make reference to things I have been told, seen and heard.

Daz, i dont know if it is completely fixed, only a rolling road run will tell me that but it feels 100 times better than it before it went to them.
