    s2 seats in URQ

Has anyone tried installing S2 or audi 90 front seats in a URQ they look very similar and URQ seats in good condition are getting harder to find.

    the bases are different widths

I tried cq type 85 seats in a type 89 and the type 89 is wider.

        I've done this!
All you have to do is change the base frame and use the backs, covers and foams from the S2 seats, I have them in my ur now! See if I can find some pics..

Thats one way of getting around it, all depends what work you want to do.

Its a bit wierd this as its not out by much but enough so to speak.

Yes its a bit of a fiddle but the second one goes quicker, the seat base cover is easy to change as you take the foam off with it, so no hog ring nonsense.. Also mine were from a saloon so I had to fit the tilt mech as well, if you start with tilters you should be able to do the job in a couple of hours. Just work outside on an old bit of carpet, its easier to struggle with like that, getting the screws out of the tilt hingee was the worst bit IIRC, need to smack the screwdriver hex bit hard with a hammer a few times and use a ratchet adaptor..

Yeah that screw on the side is a right pita, i've had to do it on about 6-8 seats now which end up with recaro's fitted to the original bases.

I already had my seats retrimmed with the modded bases so I didn't want to strip them down to swap the bases so thats why I didn't go this route.
