What projects would you like to do?

I know a few people on here are interested in doing stuff like s2 saloons or diesel quattros

what other projects would people be interested in doing? kind of like what practical performance magazine dream about each month? does not have to be strictly audi related.

there are a few interesting cars atm think some have been done and some are definately not audi

Ur quattro with a 4.2 litre engine
Rs turbo estate (had one as my 3rd car 2 door quite rare mk3) possibly a gartrac one.
    2.9 v6 rwd sapphire
nissan 200sx turbo powered sapphire (seen a p100 pickup running this engine so know it can be done)

    and some more mental ones

a wheelie car like what monster garage did in series one.
a 2.9 v6 powered trike (tho I know someone making one with an audi lump)

Anyone else got any interesting cars they'd like to build?

One of my fave cars of all time is the AC Cobra... I've long wanted to build a kit version, cos I'm old enough to admit that I'll never have the real McCoy.

Having an overall thing for V8 engines and Audi's could make an interesting departure from the normal approach to Cobra kit powerplants. Some sort of German snake - probably hideously complex to find a RWD gearbox that fits there... Oh hell lets squeeze a 4WD box and call it 'The quadra' or 'The quabbro' - LOL - that would be a ****in ace project with enough technical juice to toil better automotive packaging minds than my tiny brain. I think that project will have to be reserved for lottery win time only

This isn't a performance car really, but the recent threads about diesels and the budget of motoring doom, got me thinking about an otherwise standard Type 85 Coupe GT or Coupe Quattro with a Chipped 2lt TDi, so 170bhp'sh... Be a great mileage eater, great on fuel, quick, and cheap to run... Certainly better than a modern hack.

Also always fancied (just for the hell of it) a 20vT 350bhp+ engine in a CQ dressed down as a bog standard, square lamped 1981 GT5S Coupe... That'd rattle a few Scooby cages.. Imagine watching all four of those period early coupe alloys and rock hard 185/60/R14's exploding in tyre smoke as 350bhp+ gets to work on an 1050kg shell... Oh I can see it now...Even in that fetching Anari Silver...

@paul - that would be a good project, i've seen a few people have done over the years but getting 4wd and an audi v8 in would be good, probably get the weight down to something stupid as well.

@ian - nice picture of the gt, I have one of them been tempted a few times to stick a 20v 7a in it but havn't the heart to change around a 1 owner from new car with relatively low milage so have left it as standard atm.

be interesting to see all 4 wheels on it spinning up tho I can get that to happen on the 19's on the s2

I know a guy in Fermanagh that did a diesel conversion on a T85CQ circa 1994 with a 1.9TDi engine - he was from an agricultural background and was a bit handy like that.

The mention of a trike project is quite cool - I think a KV or 7A engined one of those would be brilliant - talk about power to weight ratio - that would be too scarey, but fun in a straight line and what a great soundtrack with straight pipes out the back to annoy the neighbours

The guy who's doing it already has the v6 lump and wiring loom from an old v6 of his, he's a member on this forum but don't post much. And it will have some stupidly wide rear wheels made from a pair of ten spokes each side (two wheels made into one)

Also got a black 3b s2 with ellipsoids, 6 speed gearbox, rotary commander sunroof and recaro's front and rear heated

Cool would be good to see.

I'm still tempted by a ur q project of some sort. Got quite a few of the bits already

would like to change the box in the s2 to the coupe quattro/ur quattro locker box as I preferred how it ran/handled in my coupe quattro even if it is a bit lower geared.

Hmm the guys a really decent guy and believe he is a member of this forum ( i think its sportquattro550 or similar). Spoke to him last time and the 20v RR steering wheel he has was bought off of mine ... Really REALLY nice car, and either white red or black i think are the best colours
