And here's a sort of step by step in pictures...

As they were after a clean, lots of brake dust from a few track days:-

The wheels were then cleaned using 240 grit wet'n'dry to get them to a smooth and clean base:-

The kerbing was taken out as best I could, this is an after shot but it wasn't pretty before so I was pleased with the results:-

The lips, tyres and valves were then masked and a coat of primer applied:-

Then 3 to 4 coats of anthracite, I bought 2 colours Rover Charcoal and Ford Graphite, I preferred the Ford colour so used the Rover one as the 2 base coats:-

Then finally the tyres were masked and 2 or more coats of lacquer applied to bring a deep shine to it all:-

The results are OK but I didn't bother attacking the corrosion on the lips so they look a bit pants in places, the centres look great and I'm happy with the returns for about #40 in paint, masking tape, lacquer etc. that's less than 1 wheel from a pro place with polished or diamond cut lips.

Looks well, just needs a touch of the Fatty magic to bring out the crisp alpinweis/schwarz contrast...

Yeah, car is a state as I've not been up to cleaning it and when I have had the energy it's more fun to drive it or make it go faster

Yes I would, that's the next thing on the list... PM me please.

Current philosophy is take what you're given and get on with life, nothing I can do to speed up recovery so I just do a little every now and again and it all adds up. Strippind the interior and doing these wheels was over a few days but I had fun and it made me realise that I'm heading in the right direction. Be nice to enjoy these things as and when I'm betterer.

What a philistine - painting wheels with tyres still attached. I was ~19 when I last done that - LOL...

Black paint is heavier than silver paint - absorbs more cosmic rays and heavy particles - your car will be faster (and look better) on silver wheels. Muhahaha

Like the look of the wheels mate, I've been thinking about doing similar to my Ronals. How did you get the lip polished up so nicely? Autosol or something? Is there anything that you can use to seal the polished rim? Or do you just have to keep polishing it all the time?

                              personal opinion:
black wing mirrors, black rear spoiler, lose the front fogs, a little lower and that would be great
like the rims(i use vauxhall anthracite paint)

I sort of cheated because the lips were diamond cut as standard so I've justcleaned up the lacquer. Have a look at Pixesaudis2 (sp.) thread for polishing lips.
