Parts for our beloved machines are not cheap. Many on here are fortunate enough to have the knowhow to tackle much of the work themselves and even make their own parts. Then there are those of us that have to take the car to a mechanic. This adds considerable expence - I am in this latter category.
So how much? Keep that bit quiet!
    Cheers

2 months to go before I spend an obscene amount of money........On a wedding
Trying not to spend money on the car,but it is like a drug.
As for current total, who cares. If you want an S2 you have to spend money, and then spend more money.

I reckon in the 6 years I've had my S2 the total is about £14k now including the purchase of the car itself

Look at it this way guys; you could have gone out and bought a brand new rep-mobile for £20k and then suffered £4k - £6k depretiation in the first year and have had to live with a boring car - when you put it into that kind of perspective, even if we spend £3k a year keeping our S2's in tip top condition, its still costing less than something a lot more boring and slower....That's what I tell myself every time I splash out on a new part or look at the fuel guage dropping as I boot it.!!!

i bought the s2 in 2001 for 3300euro. now the list is long. lot of failure, lot of blown engine. all parts and works i paid 28000euro. this is not included my work.

my rallye car cost only 5500euro. this is sounds better.

I must be around £14K or thereabouts including purchase price... couldn't do it unless the labour was supplied by yours truly.

Still, if you put that over five years, it's less than £3K a year and I couldn't buy the performance or usability that the Avant offers for anything close + the suprise factor is worth it...

...right, back out to get on with the rest of the partial rebuild

Just wondering the prices you have payed for your cars, in Finland the cheapest S2 for sale is 1992 3B with 192tkm and it costs 12500e. Thats about 9 686,92 pounds. Cheap or...

                      the add:
