why bother with the NM engine and not get an ABY for 1500euro the most?
it seems that you can gather all parts for less than 3000euro(gearbox,electrical,intercoolers etc) and with around 5000euro have a decent S2 sedan! You can even get all parts from Tots in switzerland. In and out situation! Everything you need!
With an extra 1500euro you get the RS2 interior as well, and another 1000euro the bumpers!

a nice RS2 sedan with around 7500euro!
i have an easy answer to that. I am still a student
rs2 engine also stands on brackets, not on subframe
well since you are a student, then i would suggest to wait a while until the right opportuniy arrives.any other solution will prove to be a waste of money. The 4cyl the competition has is a very nice engine.Any other best option is a turbo 5cyl.
well no, it is not a nice engine. it has the semi mechanical injection system that sux. bad bad ****. with the 2.0 20v engine i am also in the same tax level, and i will also drop the fuel consumption by a couple of liters.
there is bnothing wrong with the 4 pot. its lighter and sits farer back for a start.
a turbo on the 6a is a rocket in the making. if youy want more power get a twin exhaust cam swap. they are rare but work a treat. you need 2 KR/9a/6a/pl cams (EX) i have a finished set with toothed wheel you can offer me for if you like.
stick a 57trim t04e on that and you got an s2 killer. ignore the "no traction" comments. plenty in the states done it to prove the worth.
What i want to achieve is to get rid of the mechanical injection. That is the point. An ABF engine would be ok too, but if there is too much work in installing a 5 pot, i would rather go for a NM.
nothing wrong with the 6a. the abf got a longer stroke so a tad smoother. the main advantages of the ABF and where it gets most of its smoothness freom is the EFI.
go megasquirt or get a digi 1 loom and ECu from a G60. talk to bilal or danny at SNS for a chip. go for a bigger injector map so the squirters are not coded to go static.
a twin ex cam efi setup on a 6a is good for 170hp or so.

you need a 1.3 l polo mate if you need to save cash.
any engine swap will cost you an arm. regardless of what you have.
the cheapest ive ever done one for is around 500 quid. i bought a written off scirocco storm and transfered engine, box and interior into my scala. by far the cheapest rout is a full donor car.
more pots more juice is not true. just look at the bmw engines. also, the 2.8 v6 audi engine has a lower consumption than my 2.0 16v.
I just need info, if the engine brackets are the same and on the same place, and if there is some other difference that is worth mentioning. Battery in the boot, that for sure. the engine is now in a coupe quattro year 90 btw.
