Got RS2 Setup, how to spend 2000£ extra?

    Hi,

So right know I got the RS2 setup except the cams

Now I have 2000£ to spend, but wondering which upgrade to do to get some extra power

    Iam considering this:

SCAT Rods - 600$ Can I use them with my stock pistons?
If I change the rods what else would be smart to change? Piston rings?
    Wagner RS2 Evo manifold - 700 euro
New wastegate old one is not working that great or a refurbed one - 800 euro
    RS2 cams - used pair 400 euro

    Any comments or suggestions?

    Cheers

why change the wastegate? They are totaly able to be refurbed, and also very durable. If you need a new one though, bigger even, you can get a lot cheaper from 034 for about 500$
Piston rings should be changed along with hoaning of the bores to maximise the effect on the engine, rods scat are just fine!
RS2 cams should be less than that and as for EM go for wagner one.the best!

you could of course keep the 2000euro for now...they can still be payed on services and other little stuff that eventually cost a lot!

      Hi PapVas,

Well do you know a company that refurbeds the original wastegate? I have not been able to find one, just need to get mine repaired

I was just playing with the idea, but you are properly right in keeping the money and saving them for when something brakes-

I haven't had a WG refurb'd by it looks to me like a rather long engine-style valve and so the only wearing part is the guide it runs in... and you get get the seat where it seals reground for little effort.

          Hi Paul,

I believe it is the seal between the valve and guide that are the problem. IMO the wastegate cant hold pressure, when shifting gears in boost fine in 3rd but then in 4th it reverts to mechanical pressure and after 1000 rpms it then boost up to 1.6 bar again. But will try to dismantle it and have a look, perhaps that guys at work can do some magic

          Cheers
