    R8 Thrashing

    Ahhhh the time has come,

Off to Prestwold hall in Loughborough on Sat for a good bit of R8 thrashing, been there before in the Lambo and Ferrari Last year so time for something a bit mroe Audi. Would love to get the avant fully upgraded and give it a bash round their track as it is quite a good one for fast corners and a nice quick but tight bend (was doing it at 50-60mph in the lambo with just an ickle twitch)

Will get some pics if I can

Anything to watch out for from those who have driven them hard??

What a day, what a car..................

Jees the brakes are really sharp on the car too, sort of eye ball popping sharp, takes a few laps to get rid of but the thing is so composed it is unbelievable. Had a good chase of a Lambo Gallardo and a couple of Aston DB9's. The sound from all of them was awesome but the R8 grumble was only surpassed by the full boar chat of a Murcialago. MMMMMMMM Want one (an R8 That is).

Whats it like for tall blokes? Audi coupes are usually really good for legroom. The ur and the S2 3B are both good for my 6'6"

I had a thrash of an R-Tronic R8 around the back roads of Newport and Cardiff last week...

The car was specced out to £93K and whilst it sounded fabulous I can't say it was worth ~£40K more than my B7 RS4.

I did like the sequential gearbox, the alcantara roof-lining, the leather dash...the latter two inconsequential in the grand scheme of things...

It felt slightly more urgent than my RS4 but the handling seemed very similar...great levels of grip which will eventually wash-out into frustrating understeer if you push too hard...

The car being lighter and with, no doubt, a lower CG will beat my car round the track, but they felt very similar in terms of their performance and handling with the "stiff" selection on the MRC.

When I first got my car, I commented the brakes were probably the best thing in the car. I still think that now.

        Monstrous.
