Ok I've gone thru this with several Lawyers specializing on importation......

of un-Federalized cars as the Dept. of Transportation is called here in the States.
1/If you are a foreign international and work for the Consul General or the embassy itself you may import the vehicle for as long as your employment of said embassy.
2/ If the vehicle in question has been brought to stated & noted US Gov.Regs. for all vehicles in that year of the MFG.
3/ If the vehicle is a show car or a display model to be only used for display purposes and will not be registered for the road for any reason.
4/ If the car is on the Dept of Trans. forbidden vehicle list, the car will never be allowed to be registered for road use(racetrack use only). If & when the vehicle is found to be used on the road and has falsified registration papers and or a falsified title, the owner will be severly punished and said vehicle will be immediately destroyed.
5/ Under no circumstances will the new Security Agencies of the USA allow such vehicles to be allowed in because of the laws and regualtions that have been in place since 9/11. They have access to all communications and info from shippers going in & out of the US ports. All cargo & their manifests will be scrutinized by said agencies with due diligence.
6/ If the vehicle in question has a special notation from it's MFG to be allowed entry and use in the USA.
There are many more regulations but I'm sure you can get the gist of it.
And anybody who tells you they can do it is blowing smoke up your ***. The NSA will come knocking on your door and these same people who helped you will be ghosts or have sold your *** down the river. Ask a good legal consul about this.
All I can tell you is the US goverment is still paranoid.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but things are just the way ....

they are. If your employer signs the appropiate papers you can bring the car with you but I think there is a waiver fee to pay before getting the appropiate papers to license the car in the States.
As for the smart guys here who have stated that bringing the car here from Mexico or Canada is good way to get it in the States. That maybe true but registering the car in the State you live in will be a bit hard because they too will be scrutinizing the papers of the car too with due diligence. Usually they will punch in the VIN# and see what Audi USA says about the car. Yes there are Illegal ways of getting the car in and maybe just maybe you do get it in and Uncle Sams security services may not nail you this month or this year but they will nail you and at the worst possible time. So if you want to do this consult legal help first to see what you are up against. George Bush's little war has F**ked up alot of things for us Americans.

BTW..you know who Frank Nitti was don't you?

Being a lifelong Chicagoan that name is not very welcome or popular here.
Not only was he a barbers assistant but he was the Underboss for Alphonse Capone and the Chicago Outfit(Mafia) but he was, funny enough, a family man put in a position where he had to take his own life. He realized he was just the front man for the Outfit. He was moved out of the boss's seat, given his hat and shown the door by youngbloods Paul Ricca and Tony Accardo. They set him up to take the fall for the Outfit when the Federal Goverment came calling with arrest warrants.

Not so much in keeping things American but more...

like keeping chemical weapons, nukes and nuke triggers and detonators and germ warfare weapons out. An S2 would be a perfect and suitable container for such weapons. But the truth of it is, your car does not meet enviromental and safety regulations of the USA.

No problem. Send me a PM.

FYI, registration plates are issued by the state, not the federal government. Florida will determine whether they will issue a plate or not.

There is a lot of (mis)information out there so this can become very confusing.....and entertaining. I suggest you do your own research. Start with some inquiries to the state of Florida. Let me know if I can help you along the way.
