    .

Someone has to check those cranks...we must find out if they fit!

have somebody a engine to take apart and check this .... this cars are only deliverd in usa, but i find P/N in the album.....but they dont match any i had before.... even the head P/N are different... ?? WHY...
are this a VOLVO product, or are this car with a VOLVO tranny( 56H)
you may use a volvo 56h in a vw/tranverse car and use 5pot in, instead the 1,9 4pot

This engine has nothing to do with the old 5 cyl. It is a new engine that will soon see service in the TT (turbocharged) and possibly other group cars.

funny that it has the same bore and almost the same stroke as a 9a/6a 2l 16v. 0.3mm lower IIRC

In Venezuela arrives the Jetta 2.5L from mexico, it's that 5 pot. Line up started with the 10V ohc 150bhp then goes to the 170bhp 20V but bad news, is not the same block as 3b family... and dunno if the heads are interchangeable! I hope if they are cuz would be a step further to our engines going near the FSI techonology I think!

Would be awesome an old school 5-pot Audi (going from the nice Typ85 to the heavy UrS6) with the badge TFSI hehehe low fuel consumption, low emissions, and possibility of getting higher turbo pressure which means a lot of more power and rod bending will be reduced a bit (a little more torque for stock rods).

the question to ask is does the crank bolt in or not?

if it does then the other issues would be the extra clearance needed to turn hence the reason for the 6a/9a bubble.

the s2 block is basically KR 1.8 16v shape.

id expect the block to be a 236mm tall one also. better rod ratio

Not 100% sure but I think these use an alloy block.
