ah you say 93 ABY? They were hybrid ABY / 3B and came with all kind of wonderful mixture of parts!

yeah its a real strange one, its apparently come from a 93 aby coupe, all the bolt holes line up but the bush holes are just bigger, its deff a 6 speed subframe, im wondering whether it came from an audi 100 or similar. but i dont know a lot about those sub frames.

if it did come from an aby, then maybe there are supposed to be collars/spacers inbetween the subframe and the bushes that hold it to the car.

if its none of the above i really draw a blank.

But, jamo is correct the subframe that was on the car was the right one, the uprated bushes are the correct length and size because they fit in the old subframe.

ive just beeb scratchin my head for couple of weeks now, got bored and bought another one tonight of AL.

Ps.. ur correct, earlier is m10 and later is m12 but it didnt come with the original bushes, it came powerdercoated and devoid of its bushes lol never mind

    hope that fits better

Did you put a 3B subframe on there along with the struts?

speaking of subframes, i bought one off another forum member and its identical to my old aby one but for the fact that the holes where teh bushes fit are about 2mm larger on the new one than the old one, phoned vag parts and they had no listing for any different subframe bush sizes for the coupe or the aby??

any help would be greatly appreciated as its the final hard part i need on the front end... or im going to need to buy a second new one

however i think you can use a 5 speed subframe with a spacer for the gear box mount, not sure, seem to remember one of the platforms being a different height

haha, I wish! No, a customer that bought a VEMS box from me was looking for help finding a replacement for his subframe so he sent me some pictures when I asked for them so I could try to compare them with other more readily available options here in the USA. Based on the responses I'm going to pick up a used B4 V6 subframe from my local audi parts yard and compare to the photos. From the sounds of it, they should be compatible. Thanks guys!

@S2Avant, cool, if thats the case I can definitely source a v6 subframe for small money. Thanks very much.
