Cheers Greg, I've signed - but after doing a few of these on various motoring issues I really don't see the point.
The replies you eventually get back are arrogant, condescending and clearly display the government's disinterest in the views of the populace (IMHO).

All our cars are Euro1, so you are going to pay the most. new cars are Euro4, and some already euro5...

In germany, you get lower taxes the higher euro class you have, but there also exist tons of kits for older cars to make them euro 2, euro 3.

My old 80 Sport weighs 950 kilos, costs £185 to tax but it rarely does more than 1500 2000 miles a year. It wopuld be about to be a zero tax, had the Government kept rolling on the 25 years.
My 2004 A4 quattro T Sport is a 1.8 'family' saloon.... 1545 kilos and 226 gms/kilometer and is now classed as the wickedest gas guzler .... and I'm about to start doing only 3000 miles a year in it ( previously only 7k !)
