So now I have Kathleen Road from the postcode provided by ebay (didn't have full address as part of the "you've won" email). Anyone know it? Is it a private housing or Industrial area?
I've searched online for him and only mention of his name is a match to facebook so i can see all this person's friends. I've filed a complaint with paypal. Next step will be contacting all his facebook friends to point out that if it's the same person (most friends are in the midlands) that he's a scamming ****dog.
any other ideas I should consider?

If he doesn't have enough funds in his account they don't pay you back,well not in my case anyway.However after bombarding his phone with texts and constant ringing he must have got pissed off as i got a refund,took 7 weeks though

I'm presuming his (-1) feedback is yours that you've left. i think the lesson here is NEVER buy off a zero or low feedbacker.

You can request the registered contact details from Ebay. You need the sellers id and an Item number into this page. You get his registered details and he gets a copy of the email letting him know you're on the way - so to speak.

Darren - yeah I was doing my browsing in a small window at work and didn't notice. bit stupid of me really. Was trying to sort out a couple of bits and bobs before my holiday and wouldn't you know that's what happens when you do things in a rush. Didn't even pay attention to the pic. just emailed a few people breaking A6s and he came back with a decent price and replied quite quickly (ironically enough)

that -1 feedback was a guy who bought the engine in the meantime since my issues have been going on. the seller made up some ******** about the engine not being available, gave him a fake crime ref number and relisted the engine immediately. I'm yet to think of a suitably compact sentence to give my opinions.

cheers greg. prob is ebay came back just with birmingham and post code again. so the post code gives me the street but i don't know a number.
i'm heading back to scotland today so there's a very outside chance that a parcel is waiting for me and the dude is on holiday (ahem) but otherwise i'll give the paypal claim time to see what happens and then try that money claim site. or maybe the Norn Oirn money claim method.

Guys please consider that paypal has been voted one of the worst companies on the Planet. They are known to make it difficult for you to reach them in situations such as this. You have to click through 5 different categories to get a simple toll number then speak to a representative who'll then tell you exactly nothing. I advise you to use your credit card to fund purchases you are unsure about. If you notice when you go to pay through paypal your bank account or paypal balance is always the default method? Switch to credit not your bank account or paypal balances, those funds are guaranteed to disappear along with the crooks. Ask me how I know, lol live and learn
