Nice smooth driving there Alex, a lot less tyre squeal than I ever had and it's not moving around underneath you like mine did on the standard springs. Car sounds too!

Love the exit of Ex Muhle, that's some comedy anger! As is Swalbenschwantz where you're on the limit!

Compared your lap with the only one of mine that I have on video and you're about 15 seconds quicker to Breidscheid! Good work

I was thinking about it last night as I never timed any of my laps but had guessed at about 9m30s - 9m45s as I was backing off up the back straight (a mere 115) due to high engine temps - down to the HG . You car is approx 200bhp and 1300kg, the S2 is 300bhp but with a passenger and extra S2ness (and the fact that I weigh lots too ) I reckon on mine being about 350kg heavier! You're faster than I am through the fast corners (flugplatz, schwedencreuz, fuchsrohe) as these are the ones that I'm still not confident with in the big heavy bus on sock springs (self preservation and all that!) but I'm guessing that top speeds are higher for the S2 due to the power advantage. Just goes to show that a well handling car driven properly is always better on track than a bus with lots of power. Good work, I hope we'll be out there at the same time next year and can go play! I need to be smoother, something that the RARB upgrade demands otherwise it's slippy slidey sideways time, off the power anyway.

Yeah i think you might be right. I wouldn't say my driving was especially good as i don't know the track nearly well enough yet but more the handling and chuckability () of the car was impressive. Definately handling on top of power on the nurburgring. My slowest section was the long uphill stint after breidsheid where I just manged a top speed of 100mph but pretty much held that speed through all the corners bar bergwerk until i got to the corner just before the carousell. I took flugplatz and foxhole flat on most of my laps with a slight dab and gear change before schwedenkreuz (schwedenkreuz still scares the sh*t out of me).

I'm using standard shocks and ARBs but the springs are possibly avon (??) with all the 034 motorsport stuff and big wide toyo proxies. After a ride in RE2500's Coupe i'm impressed wih the whitline RARB, i'll hopefully have one before the trip next year.

Andy, are you still heading out in October?

Yeah, the S2 is hitting 140 over Schwedencreuz crest and then down to about 100 for the left. I'm hitting 120 at Flugplatz before braking before the crest to settle the car and about 120 up the back straight, hit 135 under the gantry racing a Sucof that was identical in speed, and again with an E30 shed that was the same speed too.

More than likely not going to make October, even as a passenger, as I'm in for a long haul recovery now. Oh well, means I can keep amassing bits for the car and hopefully get the interior out, loud exhaust on and start looking for roll cages!

Those are impressive speeds, i don't think i ever got much over 120 other than foxhole.

We'll have to see if we can sort out a trip for next year. If you make a speedy recovery we wil most likely head out at easter time as well as Juy/August.

Yeah that would be grand, have to wait and see unfortunately

It's quite strange actually as the highest speed in mine and my mate's S4 is Schwedencreuz but a lot of less powerful cars are faster in the foxhole. I have to admit to backing off all the way down there and keeping it at a steady 110-115 but I've seen 125-130 in the S4 and that was fine on the sports springs, it's utterly planted compared to the S2. I just don't fancy getting the car settled after the corner at the bottom then braking then turning in all at 130+ which the car is capable of. The S4 also hits 135 into Schwalbenschwanz, again much faster than me because of the preceding corners being a littly hairy. However, the S2 is sharper and so in the twist stuff I can be more aggressive

I love foxhole its awesome Not sure what speed i hit but its one of the few sections where i can reach fifth and floor it, and wait for the G's in the dip . I leave it until after the dip to slam on the anchors.

I have taken the left turn crest of schwedenkreuz at 120 and it felt way too dodgy so i slow right down to about 100-110 now. That is one of the corners where i beleive it just isn't worth the risk. If the back end sets loose you will be hitting the armco!!

I think the ali subframe bushes make the car feel a lot more planted. I had a ride in a boxster s whilst i was over there, and that had a little wobble down foxhole even though it ultimately had more grip.

Foxhole is great but i din't half kak myself first time round there, the fall away on that hill is so aggressive but the compression and run up to the left hander is excellent I have no idea on speeds as my speedo face had peeled so everywhere i looked it was 92mph....fixed no though and still hoping to be out in October, jsut not sure 100% at the moment as time and money not on my side

If you don't do that there's combe and someone else mentioned another track day on here recently that was quite good value for money.
